As the slow song would end, the dancers would begin to separate and go back to their business. Just then, a man with dark hair would stand on the pedestal and speak loudly toward the crowd.
"And there we have it! Our two volunteers! Let's get this show on the road!"
Before long, the ring was set up and the people began to crowd around, curious as to who would win between Grey Belfas and Nador Vakarian in this bout of armed combat.
Once the two were mounted, either via their own horse or one arranged for them, the host would raise a hand.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you our champions! The brave and bold Nador Vakarian, and the mysterious but rugged Grey Belfas! These two have been allowed to use their own weapons, or borrow one from our collection of rental weapons here, of their choice! The winner will be decided based on whoever is able to knock their opponent off their steed!
And without further adieu...

As the slow song ended, Leon let go of Crystal. He had enjoyed their dance, and had given her a quick crash-course in dancing. Nothing fancy, but a basic form. But now, there was a Joust to be held, and Leon brought his hand up to his chin. He briefly entertained the thought of the joust, but he knew how dangerous it could be. He'd been in one once and had a broken rib for three weeks after!
"I, uh, think I'll pass on the joust..." Leon said, rubbing the back of his head, laughing. "But I'll gladly watch it!" He said, taking Crystal by her hand and pulling her over to where the joust was to be held, so they could watch without interfereing. "Have you ever seen a Joust, Crystal?"

Brin barely registered the Zora’s last comment over the sound of the crowds. He still had a slight blush on his face from the overwhelming embarrassment stemming from his last sentence he uttered, but assumed it would be impolite not to return the Zora’s introduction.
“My name’s Brinwald Sarem, but most people just stick with Brin. My Ma always told me people stopped being strangers when you’d been introduced, but I don’t know if this conversation counts or not since we started talking before we introduced ourselves...” Brin trailed off towards the end, due to the sudden realization he’d let his mouth run free again. Goddesses, every word he said was just created straight from impulsivity, wasn’t it? Brin noticed Nex moving towards the arena with the other crowds of people, he hoped he hadn’t offended the man.
The forest of shoulders thickened, and Brin sprang up quickly to try and avoid losing Nex in the crowd. So far he was the only person Brin knew here, and he didn’t want to lose his new friend in the crowd.

[attr="class","rr"]Nador slowly looked over the horse and nodded taking a gulp, the one problem he had was he never had ridden a horse before but there was a first time forever. Nador quickly jumped on the horse and adjusted himself on it this wasy going to be an interesting day today. Readying himself he smirked drawing his sword and looked towards his opponent and ready to strike. Tonight was going to be good. Whatever the case of the ending of this match up this was going to be very good and honestly, Nador was looking forward to this match up.

"...hm." The man had walked away without so much as introducing himself. Grey was miffed, even irritated. What has become of chivalry, indeed?
They walked through the crowd, asking children, usually sweetening the deal with a few rupees, for assistance in their preparations. Two raced to the stables to grab Barrel, while two more came with them to help them put on their armor. In a nearly record-breaking twenty minutes, Grey was suited up and ready to rumble.
... He had his sword out. Why did he have a sword?? Grey looked to the judge to their right, standing off to the side of the tilting pitch. "Is he not aware that this is a joust, or was I not notified that this is mixed combat?" They gave the redhead the benefit of the doubt, but their opinion of the man was steadily dropping. "Someone needs to tell him to put up a shield. I do not intend on killing him, though he is a fool." Barrel and Grey were ready to compete.

Nador stated readying his sword and shield with a smile as he adjusted himself on the horse the best he could obviously this being the first time he had ever been in one of these and it was going to end badly, the sharp headaches here and there about who he was were NOT helping things either it was one thing after another today but maybe he could finally get somethings cleared about everything going on in Hyrule and figure out WHY he was sent away from this Kingdom in the first place.
"Sorry about not saying hi, little freaked right now cause well never done joust let alone horseback ridding before so this is going to be fun." Nador stated before poiting his sword towards him. "You ready?" He questioned readying his shield in the right area at least he hoped it was.

Grey flipped their visor up and shouted, their voice low to carry across the tilt. "Move your shield up and hold it tight against your body. Try not to let it jostle, or else I could hit you." They wouldn't hit him, but putting it like that would make more of an impression. "You'll be striking me across your body, so make sure you aim well. After the trumpet blows, kick your horse's sides with your ankles. Try to move with the horse." Well, that sounds like a pretty good primer. I only skipped the part about everything. How does he think he can fight me without any experience? Arrogant fool. They shook their head. "My lance, please," they commanded the page. With a nod to the judge, they showed their readiness. Hylia, show this knucklehead mercy.

Farrah was very out of the situation as her mother squished her. The initial amusement from the older woman's confusion died down when Tally introduced herself and Maude gripped her tighter. Goodness! Maude was strong, and Farrah was delicate. There were sure to be bruises forming from this hold. It didn't make Farrah hate Maude, though. It just made her confused.[break][break]She would glance between her mother and friend, honestly completely forgetting Josh was even there, and furrowed her brows. Finally being released, Farrah was going to address the situation, only to be interrupted by the stupid announcement from the weird man that they had contestants finally. Honestly, Farrah didn't care about any joust. It was just two people seeing who could knock a person off of a horse first. What was the point? You could only get hurt, and if you didn't, you just wasted your life doing something stupid. Of course, these thoughts weren't voiced when Tally asked if anyone wanted to go watch it.

Nex walked along with the boy towards the area set up for the joust. Behind him water dripped from the edges of the tattered cloth, causing his cloak to drag a bit, grass flaking around, kicked up by his heels. His flippers left wet patches in the grass, the nippy autumn wind hardly for a Zora to notice, whose home waters were of ice and snow. His fins hung flat on his head, giving the illusion he was wearing a veil beneath his cloak's hood. The semi-transluscent flesh was stretched between bony structures that acted much like the the legs of a crab, twitching and stretching.
His arms sat crossed over his chest as he turned his head to the side and peered over towards the boy. The young Hylian seemed a bit immature, still barely parted from the nest. His face struggled not to twitch in annoyance as he pondered what irresponsible adult would let such a foolish boy wander without a leash? He felt it would be better he keep him company for a short while. It was something to occupy his time, his mind. He was still troubled by his reaction earlier with Farrah's friend. Something about that woman made a weight press on his chest.
It was unwelcomed.
His claws scraped against his neck, mind trying to push back the uncomfortable sensation that now settled in the pit of his stomach. His eyes shifted at a splash of color in the audience. Amongst the dull brows, the hazy blondes and overdone black-- a pair of heads with red hair stood out. Farrah had… he should t a lk to her. Why did she hurry off? He hadn't said anything strange. He didn't want to approach without reason though. He knows something was... off. Looking down he motioned to Brin.
"Come on, can't see anything back here." The kid had his uses after all: a reason to approach the women, without approaching directly. He could talk to her and the kid will get a closer spot.
He moved in trying to get closer to Farrah Abad. He just needed to be noticed. He kept his eyes, somewhat, forward, towards the field.

I've seen a lot in this lifetime of mine
 | Josh had remained silent throughout all of this, just casually taking Maude's hand and holding it while they went about their business. They'd gotten their dance after all, so he was quite happy about how the day had turned out. Though Josh would lean over in a pause between her speaking with Farrah and the new woman, the Gerudo, and would whisper into the ear of his raven-haired lover. "So, when the festival ends and everyone is heading to the hilltops to see the stars, what do you say we sneak off from everyone else and watch them alone for a little while?" When she would look at him, he shot Maude a cheeky grin. He would playfully nuzzle the farmwoman's nose with his own, and place a playful little peck on her lips affectionately, before turning to speak to Crystal, a bit quietly so as not to let folks such as Leon and others in the vicinity to hear. He didn't really like people knowing about his past, after all. "So you and the kid know one another as well?" He would inquire. "I knew him back in the day when he was just some dweeb running around trying to be a hero" Josh would crack, grinning. "I took him with me on a mission once, along with this thief called Rinley. Rin got injured in the battle, and despite me doing the work in saving her ass, I... Kind of just let Nador haul her on his shoulder to town to come in looking like this big bad hero who saved the girl. Thought it was funny, since he was obsessed with looking like one. And I'd done enough that I didn't need the credit." He didn't talk about his old adventures to people very much, as it was a life he had left behind - but Crystal was an old friend. And it had plenty to do with the topic, after all. "Still, I'm glad he's still kicking, but... What in the world is he doing all the way out here?" He asked as he would watch Nador and a mysterious looking man take the stage for the joust. Part of him felt a bit of a fire... Part of him... Well... It kind of wanted to be up there. ‘A joust? A joust? A joust with lances and horses? I have to see it!’
A small step; An awkward slide of hand; Marianne pushed her small frame onward, hoping to somehow make her way through the sea of people flocking to Castle Courtyard. She is the Princess alright. But now! Now among these many faces no one seemed to recognize her or letting her pass. Not that she is famous –she never dreams to be- but oh would not it be nice if something happen to ease her way.
‘No one told me there would be a joust,’ she thought sourly as she swayed her head from left to right trying to get a glimpse of the arena over the tall shoulders of so many people in front of her. She half-thought to tap the shoulder of the Goron in front of her if, by any chance, she would let her pass? She is taller than Marianne so she should be fine seeing from behind her- an opening!
A person moved on her front right, leaving a small nook open that would allow her to skip past three or four people closer to the front. A Gerudo was eyeing the spot too- Eyeing it?! No- now’s the chance!
Marianne bent her body back, like a spring, and pounced. She managed to get her right leg first, followed by a heel turn to avoid the Goron’s arms; she swung her left leg and- hop! Now she was just two rows of people away from the Arena. She could see a horse! A handsome white-haired knight was mounting his horse!
“Yas!”
Someone in front of her turned around and grinned. Marianne looked down and blushed. Did- did she just yelled out loud instead of thinking it oh noes… Her hands moved reflexively to her hood, intent on covering his head like she always does. She needed to stop making a fool of herself.
But luck was on her side! Somehow, the announcer recognized a royal face peeking energetically from the crowds. And the dark-haired gentleman acted like he should.
“Halt!” he shouted, raising a hand, “Hold your horses, gentlemen. And I do mean hold your horses. Do not start yet.”
He strode to the area where Marianne was and stopped there. A big smile on his face.
Too late Marianne realized what he’d do. The color of her face quickly shifted, from red to pale white. Funny to see it. Like a clam opening and closing so fast.
“What luck, Ladies and Gentlemen!” He said in his booming voice, “Tonight we folks have been graced by Her Highness Princess Marianne herself! She, who braved the sea of people just to cheer on these two gallant knights!” The crowd cheered and parted, revealing the guilty princess standing still in her usual black-red garments. There was no escape now, Marianne realized. She gulped.

“Would Your Highness be so kind as to be our Lady of The Joust tonight?” The announcer bowed, offering his hand.
Marianne inhaled once, then exhaled.
And the hand that welcomed his hand –a little clammy, but fine- was truly a hand of a princess! Marianne gracefully stepped out of the crowds with a smile. He kissed her hand, she made a well-practised reception sign with her free hand. A few handwaves, nods and well-calculated smiles towards the adoring crowd she let out as she was being led towards a raised podium where the announcer was before, in a manner befitting a lady. She might not be as naturally graceful and her older sister. But that’s not to say she did not have style!
‘A joust? A joust? A joust with lances and horses? I have to see it!’
A small step; An awkward slide of hand; Marianne pushed her small frame onward, hoping to somehow make her way through the sea of people flocking to Castle Courtyard. She is the Princess alright. But now! Now among these many faces no one seemed to recognize her or letting her pass. Not that she is famous –she never dreams to be- but oh would not it be nice if something happen to ease her way.
‘No one told me there would be a joust,’ she thought sourly as she swayed her head from left to right trying to get a glimpse of the arena over the tall shoulders of so many people in front of her. She half-thought to tap the shoulder of the Goron in front of her if, by any chance, she would let her pass? She is taller than Marianne so she should be fine seeing from behind her- an opening!
A person moved on her front right, leaving a small nook open that would allow her to skip past three or four people closer to the front. A Gerudo was eyeing the spot too- Eyeing it?! No- now’s the chance!
Marianne bent her body back, like a spring, and pounced. She managed to get her right leg first, followed by a heel turn to avoid the Goron’s arms; she swung her left leg and- hop! Now she was just two rows of people away from the Arena. She could see a horse! A handsome white-haired knight was mounting his horse!
“Yas!”
Someone in front of her turned around and grinned. Marianne looked down and blushed. Did- did she just yelled out loud instead of thinking it oh noes… Her hands moved reflexively to her hood, intent on covering his head like she always does. She needed to stop making a fool of herself.
But luck was on her side! Somehow, the announcer recognized a royal face peeking energetically from the crowds. And the dark-haired gentleman acted like he should.
“Halt!” he shouted, raising a hand, “Hold your horses, gentlemen. And I do mean hold your horses. Do not start yet.”
He strode to the area where Marianne was and stopped there. A big smile on his face.
