[attr="class","header"]rules & guidelines
[attr=class,cp cp-legend-of-zelda] | Hi there, and welcome to "The Legend Of Zelda: Land Of Twilight!" This is a laid back, plot oriented site/server hybrid in an AU Legend of Zelda setting. We also play host to a group of player-created side roleplays referred to as "Diverse Roleplay" to give players the tools to tell all the stories their imagination can create. We're very excited to have you here, but there are a few rules and guidelines that we would like you to keep in mind. That said, we look forward to seeing what sorts of plots and other hijinks you'll be getting into here! |
- Communication is conducted on LoT's Discord and all rules apply to both the site and Discord.
- Please abide by the Proboards Terms Of Service. If we do not, there is no site.
- Please follow basic roleplay etiquette. Metagaming, powerplaying, and powergaming are frowned upon. Please remember that avoiding these things is a courtesy to your fellow Roleplayers.
- If you use the forum for roleplay, please use one character per account. While an OOC account is not required, you may choose to use one for Diverse Roleplay. You can link these accounts together using the "Switch Account" tab on the bottom right of the forum.
- Be respectful to those around you! We here at Land Of Twilight pride ourselves in wanting to keep a fun, laid-back RP environment where people can write their stories at a pace that is comfortable for them. We will not tolerate harassment or bullying, and will deal with it strictly.
- Hateful speech or action in regards to the color of one's skin, nationality, gender identity, disability or sexual preference will not be tolerated.
- While Discord does not have the same restrictions as Proboards, we do ask you to limit intimate interaction in roleplay due to the presence of minors on our server. Flirting and shows of affection are fine, but if it seems like it's a good time to fade to black or take it to a private server, we recommend doing so. However, if you are an adult writer then we ask you not to "take it private" if your partner writer is under 18 years of age.
- Keep in mind that IC actions have consequences. If your character commits a crime, especially in a place as public as Hyrule City, expect there to be repercussions. Nobody is invincible, immortal or immune. Your character could very well end up arrested for committing crimes, so think carefully before you act! Of course, we want to encourage you to play your character the way you want, and play them the way they would act in any situation. Just remember the old saying - every action has consequences.
- We use a PTK (Permission To Kill) roleplay style in the case of combat. You are not allowed to kill another writer's character, either main or NPC, without their explicit permission. Trying to force someone to give that permission also falls under harassment. This also means that should you be the DM of a thread, you are not in any way possible allowed to put someone else's character in a situation that forces them to be killed off. If a player does not want their character to die, work around them.
- Failure to follow these rules will oftentimes result in a warning. Repeated offenses can lead to suspension, the loss of Roles, or being removed from the site and server.
