[attr="class","section"]appearance
Physically, Tally is tall -- six foot, at least (though her mother, much shorter, would joke that (standing) she was "five foot thirteen"). She's mostly made of legs, though, so when her legs are folded under her, she looks deceptively short. She's built like a tank, but don't let that fool you; dealing with horses daily for over a decade has given her quick reflexes. She won't deck you with a punch, but she'll easily slip out of your grip and run. (If you do get in a fight with her, yes, she does hit, but beware the legs.)
She doesn't bother with flair. Her style of dress is functional to a fault. The closest she gets to excess is her long ponytail (which she thinks is pretty); she never lets her hair loose. If she has to, she'll put on a dress; generally, though, she sticks to simple cotton tunics (blue, preferably), thicker breeches or overalls with leather pads sewn in on the calves (makes riding easier), a heavy wool cloak if it's cold, and about three pairs of boots. See, there's the short pair for just going around the barn, and then there's the tall pair, which is for riding, and then there's the other tall pair, indistinguishable from the first, which is for riding, but in the winter, and then --
Beyond her clothing, Tally tends to carry around a belt pouch with a Rupee or ten and some horse treats. We are sorry if she attempts to pay you with horse treats. She does know the difference. Honest.
If she feels that she needs to protect herself, Tally does have a mace, but she generally goes without.
[attr="class","section"]personality
Tally is re-learning independence, so she's a little more cautious than she used to be, but friends would still describe her as outgoing. To work with horses, as she's learned, you have to think like one — quick to anger and quick to forget, but also unwaveringly stubborn. Tally definitely fits the bill. She doesn't hold grudges, but she'll bite when bitten, and she won't let go until she's certain she's gotten her piece in.
She's always been fearless to the point of rashness, charging headfirst into things on the basis of gut instinct. This does cause her to make assumptions, which, on paper, could work in her favor, but actually does so rarely.
Tally is a big fan of honesty. She doesn't like lying, and she doesn't like being lied to. She knows where the lines are between honesty, bluntness, and rudeness, and she'll cross them if she thinks it's necessary.
[attr="class","section"]backstory
Weeping Rock Farms was Tally's world. She grew up alongside several horses, most of whom have now been sold (after all, Weeping Rock Farms is known for their Arabians and crosses). She learned early on how to handle animals, large and small. Her parents taught her to be kind to a point; like with all things, if you give a horse an inch, it'll take a yard. So, while her father (a Hylian) taught her kindness and tolerance within reason, her mother (a Gerudo) taught her hand-to-hand combat and weapons work. She's taken all four lessons to heart.
When Tally thought it was time for her to move out, her parents shuffled her off to a barn in Castle Town. South Wind Stables was far enough to deter day trips, but close enough to home that when she needed to visit for a good meal, it was just a day's ride away. Tally enjoyed her time there, mostly spent chasing after the barn manager to help with whatever the project of the day was...
... and she remembers it fondly when she occasionally gazes out in the direction of Castle Town from the back of a horse at Weeping Rock. The Starlight Festival left few lives untouched. For Tally, her whole livelihood was burned to the ground. She moved back home to recover and put her head back together for a time, but she's been feeling steadier on her own two feet lately. The fall leaves may see her venturing out towards the big city once more...
