Nex was a well spoken, educated in the ways of the Zora His oration skills allowed him to converse with others on a daily basis, but also gently bully others into doing for him, what he would not do for himself. He always had a smile on his face, even if things seemed dire and at their worst. Nex had a quick wit, a good observer in the sense. He could examine a situation and take the best from it, limiting the negative aspects of a situation to keep things calm and civil. Albeit a rather odd trait, it was considered positive at times: his ability to see the use and value of a person or object even if they themselves held the object or individual with a worthless presence. Lastly Nex could always submit to his own failures, even if it was difficult for others. He was a diplomat and capable of gently coercing others into seeing his way.[break][break]

There were always darker sides to a personality, and Nex's contrasted against his more noble aspects. He was a manipulative man who always sought to gain advantage over others. Be it in a business deal or an everyday activity. This led Nex to be viciously competitive, which pushed him to do almost anything to snatch victory from his opponent. Where most saw his smile in public, behind closed doors he had an explosive temper which left him violent when he was angry. He is known to brutally respond once his top was blown and found difficulty in stopping himself. A double-edged sword, where he always saw value in others and objects, he had a tendency to not want to let them go. This hoarding habit was a tendency built up from childhood, a fear of loneliness replaced with an obsession. Lastly he would abandon another who would bring weakness to the tribes, after all preservation of the strong stood above preservation of the weak. He could be extreme in his manners and would not stand against using violence to force another to submit.[break][break]

Nex stood at an even six feet tall. Among his kind he was the most average and common there was in terms of build and size. In his Zora form he had a long swimming tail from his head that reached down toward his back end. There the tail ended in a flat spay resembling the head of a squid. Along the tail were Zora tattoos etched in a red ink. At the very end of the tail, just over the spay was a pink coral bracelet. Long, flowing fins sat behind his tapered ears, the ends of the fins marked with a natural, blue coloration that mimicked the motion of seaweed in the ocean free. Over the right side of his face were more red tattoo markings, a brand of sorts which closely resembled archaic Zora writing. Over his wrists he wore pink, coral bracelets, matching the one over his fin. Along his sides were blue, blotch patter markings that helped him blend in the water.

Between his webbed digits were even more tattoos, marking his conquests of the rivers and sea. His gills were pierced with pink, coral loops from which pink bivalve shells hung, displacing his position of power with decorative swag carved from conquered waterways. His body was littered with adult markings of both a River Zora and Sea Zora, which shimmered in the sunlight, giving off a silvery hue that bounced off his blue scales and seemed to dance while he was still in clear, flowing water.

In his more human form, an illusion created through ancient transmutation charms, Nex was the same height, but his flowing, blue fins were replaced with short-cropped, cobalt colored hair. He retained the markings over his right eye and often dawned a flowing, black, hooded that -- looked like a rabbit? That aside beneath he wore a simple shirt with loose pants weighed down by chains, a yellow belt attempting to hold the knee-length pants on his thin hips. Heavy boots allowed him to traverse Hyrule's rugged terrain with ease. He had various outfits which changed for the occasion. From meeting with delegates to showing rival tribes his strength.[break]

Born amongst his kin he was considered a black fish. A hybrid: both Sea Zora and River Zora, he was considered a monster and was treated as such. In his youth he was victimized by both adult and children, instilling in him a rebellious spirit that transcended the ideal Zora behavior of giving up your individuality for the tribe's success. He became distrustful of outsiders and his own kind, creating a sense of paranoia that festered into a boiling hatred of the weakness he felt was inside of him. As he grew he was raised in the warrior culture, despite his being hated. He was pushed more than most, often being told that if he did not control his nature he would become the monster they all believed he was, as Sea Zora were seen as violent and rabid beasts that held an inclination to the darkness.[break][break]

In his adolescence Nex formed a gang amongst other miscreants and troublemakers. He went around Zora territories and sometiems Hylian lands to fight and contest for hang-out spots or areas known of loot such as abandoned graveyards and temples. An incident occurred in which Nex was trapped in one of the mausoleums of the grave for the entire night, Poes terrorizing him. Since than he had become adverse to graves and anything involving the dead. Being in his gang he got into a lot of fights, some quite violent that it left him with scars and damage to his body that was irreversible. One such injury left him blind in his right eye and much of that side of his face numb. As he grew he rose up in the ranks of Zora soldiers through his sheer ferocity. By right of strength he sought to take the role of king, asserting that with Hylians and Humans overtaking the land, Gorons on the raise: they needed a monster on the throne to stop monsters from taking apart the kingdom.[break][break]

He is a fierce warrior burdened by the hatred of his own kind, but that fear they hold for him is what allows him the power to lead, of which he backs up with his mercilessness and ability to act without the burden of self-interest. Be it a gang or the tribes he had the ferocity and decisiveness needed to make the hard devisions no one else could. To ensure that he could conquer both the land and the sea the warlord commissioned a Gerudo witch to craft him a charm that would allow him to walk on land, but it came with a curse. While he would look, walk, and talk like a Hylian the sharp, Zoran fangs could not be hidden from view and his reflection in water would reveal his true form. The charm cost him his entire family fortune, what had been left to him. He sold his old life for a new one. This amulet could only work under certain conditions though and drained his energy over time. It could only be recharged by enshrining it in the Lakebed Temple during a full moon, thus once a month could it be fully charged, leaving it with limited use through each month.[break]
