[attr="class","header"]character roles
Hyrule is filled with a score of settlement and guild hierarches that can be filled by player characters. Some roles can be taken by a character upon creation, while others must be roleplayed into by an existing character. If you desire to take a role, a request must be sent to Staff for review. Should you be granted a role, you do not have to take the spot immediately if you wish to long-term plot into it. Note that some roles are restricted to certain kinds of characters for lore reasons, such as Hyrule's ruler typically being decided amongst members of the Royal Family.
If a character is archived, they will lose their claim on a role, though it can be reclaimed if they have not yet been replaced. Most vacant roles will be played by an NPC until it can be filled. These roles are a big responsibility, but try to have fun with them!
Roleplay instances may also cause roles to be added, changed or removed. One writer may hold up to four roles total, and can hold up to two settlement leadership roles.
[attr="class","header"]The Royal Family
Queen and King of Hyrule - Officially coronated in Fall 02 after Ganon's defeat, Queen Selene Merrows de Hyrule and King Josh Dragelion rule together under unusual circumstances. Both formerly adventurers, with Josh once being a knight, the two former Crest Wielders govern Hyrule with both a royal and commoners touch.
Knight Captain - Revered, celebrated and romanticized by the people of Hyrule, the Knights of Hyrule are the Royal Family's elite hands who are sent on the Royal Family's most dangerous assignments. Leading them is the best of the best, Knight Captain Barrett Tethras (NPC).
The Four Generals - The most trustworthy of Hyrule's military servicemen, Generals are chosen from those who have shown strong leadership qualities. They are capable of managing and leading Hyrule's forces in times of need. Outside of battle, they are responsible for organizing the military and keeping everything running smoothly. Each of the Generals runs a division based around a specific sector. Only a Commander may become one of the Four Generals.
The Lanayru Sector is overseen by General Gwyar Blayney.

[attr="class","section"]Ordon Village
Mayor Of Ordon Village - Ordon is run by its Mayor, who presides over the village and does their best to do what is best for Ordon. It can be difficult to balance the economy with so many varying trades in a way that makes everyone happy, but Ordon has always bred hard workers and the elected village mayor will need to be the hardest worker of them all. The mayor is chosen by the villagers as a collective, and can be replaced if need be. The current Mayor is Lilly Ruxford (NPC).
Outpost Captain of Ordon Village - With Ordon's close proximity to the Ordon and Faron Woods, the risk of Ordon being attacked by monsters is quite high. Led by the Outpost Captain, Hyrule's military force is Ordon's last line of defense against any threats that may come from within the woods. Sir Josh Dragelion had taken up the mantle after beasts from the Twilight Realm attacked the village, and spent his time coordinating a sound defense for Ordon for years to come. After Dragelion became the King of Hyrule however, this position is now vacant.
[attr="class","section"]Kakariko Village
Kakariko no Jito - After Kakariko's leadership was wiped out during the Battle of Eldin, a change was needed and Iolani Tsukihachi was elected to be the village's new Jito. The Jito of Kakariko Village is responsible for protecting and managing the affairs in the village, as well as with keeping relations with their neighboring Gorons in Death Mountain. If the village is attacked, the Jito will often be seen at the front lines alongside Hyrule's soldiers.
Kakariko no Jitodai - The right-hand man of the Jito, the Jitodai is Kakariko's second in command. They assist the Jito, work with Hyrule's military forces and act in the Jito's stead when they are away. This position is currently vacant.
Kakariko no Captain - With Kakariko's rebuilding came a new military outpost for the village in order to protect it from future threats. Kakariko's Outpost Captain is responsible for protecting Kakariko and its people on behalf of the Royal Family. This position is currently vacant.
[attr="class","section"]Goron City
The Chief - The leader of the tribe on Death Mountain, and the ruler of Goron City. The Chief must be mighty and wise if they are to keep their proud people in check. Chief Solveig (NPC) has led his people for many years, though after injuries suffered during war, is seeking a worthy successor.
Warrior General - The Warrior General not only trains the Goron troops, but also leads the army into battle. They must be ready to command their forces and protect their people at all times. General Nogra (NPC) is the current General.
[attr="class","section"]Zora's Domain
King/Queen Zora - The monarch presides over the Domain and ensures the prosperity of their people. Operating from Zora's Domain, they work hard to protect and serve their people's needs. When battle arises, the monarch typically serves as the general of the Zora's armies. King Riven currently sits atop the throne, with Rularu being set to succeed him at a later time.
Centurion - Powerful, high-ranked individuals that relay the Emperor’s will to the Sergeants and will achieve it by any means necessary. They usually have a certain level of seniority, have extensive combat experience, and are required by imperial mandate to attend the Emperor’s war meetings. Their century companies are named after them and command respect among the people. The Centurions Quantus (NPC), Asdani (NPC) and Exodius (NPC) each have upwards to a hundred soldiers under their command.
[attr="class","section"]The Sacred Grove
Boss of the Kokiri - While the Great Deku Tree protects those dwelling in his Sacred Grove, Saphe (NPC) has elected herself as Kokiri Boss, representing her people in times of decision and in conflict.
Deku King - Deku King Folus (NPC) in turn, represents the interests of the Deku. Through them, the Kokiri and Deku are able to co-exist without things becoming too one-sided.

[attr="class","section"]The Hyrulean University of Magic
Headmaster - Magic has become a boon to the people of Hyrule, and the Hyrulian University of Magic seeks to cultivate this boon for the betterment of their kingdom. Whoever holds the position of Headmaster will be tasked with finding and managing the right people who can cultivate the future of Hyrule's brightest mages. Unfortunately, the Headmaster role has been vacant since Headmaster Hargen was struck down trying to protect the people of Kakariko Village during the Battle of Eldin.
