It was another day for the magic school, and it was about time to practical application of magic. The class was to be held in a shooting range built for the aspirants, and contained crystals built similarly to the switches of dungeons. For this activity, it was possible for nobles, military leaders, and outstanding citizens to observe the training, for it often showcased the outstanding discipline that the Hylian Mage army were prized for.
However, the typical professor who monitored this class had called in sick that morning, thus a lot was drawn among the rest of them of who would manage it.
And, to everyone’s horror, the lot fell to her, yet, because it was this particular individual, the fledgling mages were lined up in near-perfect military formation, and not a word was passed from one another.
She was a tall, matured woman of chilling beauty, draped in a cloak like the deepest night. Her long, silk hair did not sway with her movements, and her cold, searching gaze swept across the young, dour faces of the students. Yet, the words that left her mouth were neither monotonous, inspiring, or dramatic, no, they were direct and to the point, like a captain enlisting orders to her troop.
“We will begin with this directive: all magic must be respected absolutely, yes, without exception. No forms of magic are exempt from practicing caution and safety, lest you cause harm to yourself or your fellow countrymen. We will avoid misuse of magic, and approach a proper mental judgment where application of magic is crucial for a positive result.
Each one of you should have learned the most basic spell of your respective magic classes. This spell is a projectile, which can be charged and harnessed to increase its power. However, what we will train first is the accuracy of your projectile, rather than the charging aspect of it.
Before we begin, you may ask questions, make comments, and address concerns.”
The latter words were a habitual phrase, familiar with each student who had taken her course before.
