A Study in Parenthood (Open)

'Just making sure to keep any dangers out of the city, 'case there was one, since there's been reports of white wolfos in the fields lately. Didn't expect the one to talk,' the guard muttered, shying away a little from the rather larger Zora.

"No need to worry there; I can at least assure you that this isn't one of them. The only thing this little one is a likely threat to is my tails," Revyn grumbled... primarily for the fact that he hadn't accomplished much with the little attempt to push the white wolfos that slightly outdid him in size off his tail. All that really had happened was that it had laid itself down on the ground -- perhaps thinking, as before, that that was what he wanted -- with one of his tails still settled between its teeth. Something that he dearly hoped wouldn't become a habit.

"That aside, then..." the keaton spoke up again after a moment, content at least that the cub's grip had at least loosened in turn. "The two of us were just on our way back to the castle. But since I appear to have people's attention anyway, I could likely use a few things to make this trip a bit... easier," he thoughtfully hummed.

"For starters... would one of you happen to have a stalfos bone or something similar for this little terror of a cub of mine to occupy his teeth with instead? I confess, I'm a bit old to remember how my parents dealt with me," he requested, even so far as trying to get his tail itself tugged a little away from the cub... to no real avail but a slight sound from the wolfos.

It also hadn't failed to occur to him that it was not perhaps the best sort of story to spread that he might have had a cub with a wolfos... but it was the best way he could think of to keep the thing out of too much trouble.

'Cute', was it? Well... maybe. Revyn supposed he could kind of see it... when it wasn't being rather directly bothersome to him. Ignoring the fact that it was already larger at a mere few months or so than he would ever be, if not by much.

That it would only continue to grow quickly enough was a bothersome thought all its own... but for now, he could be content that the bit of scratching had drawn out a slight yawn, enough for him to extricate his tail. Only for now. And the bit of bone, then... well, if the cub wasn't going to go for it immediately, then fine; the keaton himself could take it in his own teeth and offer it down that way, seeming to prompt the cub to act in turn and start idly chewing on it. The other guard, meanwhile, seemed to come to some alert when Kamo seemed to glance pointedly back to him, just to quickly shake his head.

"Me? I've scarcely been near the place. I wouldn't know how to get them in there, especially not to the Princess that he wants to meet," he quickly enough spoke up. Never mind that he didn't really want to get involved with any of this, regardless of whether the cub seemed well-behaved or not.

"Really now... sometimes I don't understand how people can complicate things so much," the keaton mused, taking a bit of time to straighten out some of the fur on that tail of his with a front paw. "But perhaps the city itself would do for now. I haven't much been... out in the open yet, but I'd think at least some should know not to be wary of the Princess' own 'pet' for practical reasons, hmm?" he suggested, putting on a slight smirk. "Well, and his cub, of course. Though this one will need some... training."

'Hard', hmm. A fair question... though he'd at least figured out easily enough how to get the cub to lay down, when it decided to cooperate. It hardly missed the keaton in the meanwhile that the other guard was quite content to wander off, on such a point... nor that the little cub was being peaceful, at least for the moment.

"Mm... I wonder. It would likely be easier if this one was, well... smaller," he mused. Smaller, and wasn't liable to overpower him in a moment's notice... not that that took much at the best of times, for any given creature larger than himself. "But I think I'll worry about that a bit later. Or let others worry about it; who knows," he suggested with a little smirk. Not to say he wouldn't try... but he wasn't convinced he wasn't a bit of a terror in his own ways way back when he was still a kit. And how much he could teach a wolfos, white or otherwise, he'd just have to see.

"For now, then..." he spoke next, leaning down to give the wolfos cub a little nudge or few; enough to get it to start growling slightly -- likely protective of the bone it was still chewing on -- before it actually got back up to its feet. "Maybe along the outskirts of the city, where it's not as busy. So far they've been quite good about following closely to me, so I'm not too concerned, but best to take care, hmm?"

"I suppose so. I might ask my old parents how they dealt with me growing up, but well... they're more than a little out of the way. Him following me at all is good enough, for now," Revyn mused with a little smirk, allowing himself a thoughtful little hum as he glanced back momentarily to the wolfos now following along. Simple enough to say the young cub wouldn't be trouble, as long as it was occupied, but convincing others... hmm. There should've been at least a couple guards that would recognize him, as he'd suggested, but it would take a bit more for this one.

"As a matter of fact, though..." he thoughtfully spoke up after another moment, glancing around a little. "There would normally be discarded rags or some such things around, hmm? If I'm not mistaken, folks like to put collars and things on a lot of their animals and the like. I'm not so inclined for that... but a little something would at least show we're not wild. Well... I'm not. I can't make many promises about this one," he suggested.

"For that, though, I will need a little help. I'm not terribly... talented at tying things, as you might imagine."

"Mm... perhaps. If it becomes necessary," Revyn idly hummed, glancing around a little in the meanwhile. Foraging for such things wasn't something he was... terribly talented at, he had to admit. Though he wasn't averse to a bit of small thievery now and then... but with a guard around, that in particular wasn't much of an option, and didn't change the fact that he'd have some difficulty wrapping anything distinctive around the wolfos cub's neck.

"Ah... there, I think. A simple scarf may well do; after all, 'wild' beasts don't wear clothing, hmm?" he suggested, giving a small nod to what appeared to be a small tailor shop, or something of that sort; he had to admit, he wasn't familiar enough with the city yet to know what everything was. All things in time, though; he'd know before too long.

"Though carrying this one in may be for the best, so they don't get into anything they shouldn't; as for the cost, though, I can pay back sometime later," he calmly suggested, as though it didn't affect him at all... even as he started to lead the way in that direction, with the cub still following behind.

"Mm? Certain events, that I'd rather not go into too much detail on," Revyn vaguely replied with a little smirk. Perhaps he simply didn't want to speak to it, perhaps it was in fact his biologically... somehow. Well, probably not, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to let others believe it if they wished to.

Even if any normal wolfos would likely sooner eat a little keaton like him...

"Now then, a scarf or something, then... if you would? Something in blue, perhaps; I'd dare say such a color would fit myself and the little... -ish one here just as well," he suggested, pausing himself at the door to the little tailor shop... in no small part since he had no good ways of opening it.

Well, he could, of course -- he'd not been around as long as he had without picking up such a skill -- but he preferred not to if he could avoid it.
