Lake Hylia, Morning
As always, the lake was a beautiful sight to see, with the pure waterfalls from the Domain cascading down the cliff. It felt as though the very elements of the world could not put a care in the world for what has been happening for the past years.Lake Hylia, Morning
However, that was not the case. The waters had begun to tremble not so long ago. and a report came henceforth from a guard of the Lakebed to the Zoran leadership:
"Esteemed leaders, a disturbance has been reported from Lake Hylia. Recent studies indicate that fish have recently stopped spawning around the lakebed, and upon further investigation, it was found that traces of dark magic exist in the water. Zorans who passed along this area also have heard strange groanings echoing near the surface.
Worse yet, Skullfish have begun to emerge from the Lakebed Temple. According to a Zoran researcher in affiliation with the Hyrule City Monster Research Council, Skullfish can only appear in tainted waters, as the concentration of dark energy tends to corrupt carcasses of dead fish.
Upon further inquiry with our allies at Hyrule City, they have deduced that it is highly likely that a piece of the Mirror of Twilight lies within the Lakebed Temple. The fact is given that these artifacts have strange power, and caution must be exercised when handling them.
With this report is a prompt for action. A dispatch must be sent into the temple to eliminate the threat and remove the Mirror Piece from within."
In spite of the urgent call, the Domain was in a state of rebuilding, and all hands were on deck. Volunteers would be hard to come by, as each Zora expended their energy each day in rebuilding their once glorious empire. Neither were there many with the courage to decide to pursue something that inheritly corrupted others with dark beckoning...
However, one Zora publicly declared to head the expedition regardless of who showed up, for personal reasons and morbid curiosity, and was the same researcher who gave the guard the tip-off on the Skullfish.
Her name was Phima, a soldier who turned to a life of research of monsters.
From the moment she nominated herself, a burden was lifted from the council, but they advised that she find more companions to ensure a safer investigation...
It has been a couple days since she had posted a pamphlet of inquiry, and much to her delight, the slots were filled quickly...
... And yet...
"Ph... Phima... has Princess Rularu and the Rebellion Leader, Anastasia Morozova on her team..."
How in Lanayru's name was she supposed to turn them down? Were they not important to the cause of the Zoras?!
Moreover, Saphe, a Kokiri she had previously met on a different occasion concerning the Lakebed, and Selene, whom she met during a food foraging trip in the fields, also signed on. A very rambunctious girl, and a kind one.
Even so... she felt there were strong personalities within her group, and her very own would also be at odds with theirs...
Phima rubbed her forehead as she sat on the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Hylia, staring at a notebook that was gifted to her from her friend in the MRC. She had already written numerous notes in it, but the page it was open to was to that of the people who had signed on.
"Ohhh... this one feels such burden..."
