Inside the meeting hall of the Headquarter of Hyrule’s Masons Guild, tensions were running high.
The people inside the dank, poorly ventilated room had been there since early afternoon. Now it was already sunset, and it seemed that whatever being discussed had not yet reached any definite conclusion. Two groups were sitting around the rectangular table, though their numbers vary as their members came and went of the room, in dire need of fresh air. One group were the Masons’ Guild themselves, headed by their Guildmaster. The other group were an assembly of court officials and royal workmasters, led by Princess Marianne de Hyrule.
The princess had long since annoyed by the lack of progress in a particular reconstruction effort in a certain sheikah village. It had already been surveyed even before Marianne’s disappearance. Yet when she returned and inquired about the village condition during The Twilight Table, the same condition without any improvements. In worse conditions, even. At that time Marianne was content to appoint her ministers to oversee the projects, just like many hundreds other projects engineered by the energetic princess. The sweeping reform of The Twilight Table was much more important.
But weeks went by and no significant progress was made. While delays were inevitable in any projects of the kingdom, this particular project tardiness had been intolerable for Marianne. She began devoting more of her attention to this project: pushing for a new layout and securing a deal with the Woodcutter’s Guild for the needed timber, all the while still focusing her energies on more important projects such as The Eldin Roads.
However, as time went on and the project continued to stall, it started to grate on Marianne’s nerves. The last straw was when the overseers reported that they had failed to secure an agreement with the Masons’ Guild for the fourth consecutive time, even after Marianne had personally revised the agreement draft after the third fail.
Fuming at the incompetence displayed, The Princess decided to take matters into her own hands. She would lead the next negotiation herself.
Thus, that was how The Princess of Hyrule was present in this heavily populated commercial district of Hyrule Castle Town, navigating its crowded streets without much fanfare and went straight to her destination: The Headquarters of The Masons’ guild. It was a rather stuffy autumn night, with overhanging clouds but no rain, and the usual cool breeze that so defined autumn had strangely disappeared. It wasn’t the most comfortable night for an extended meeting, but Marianne was intent on finishing this obstacle as fast as she could.
As always, she had been assigned a Sheikah Guard for her protection. And as always, too, that was the protection she allowed. Such was the might of the Sheikah Royal Guardians. One was usually more than enough to deter any kind of danger. Her guardians tonight was one named Chaska, who had been assigned to the Royal Family for quite some time, although Marianne did not know about her very well. She was too busy reviewing the data on her way to the guild to strike a small talk, but the princess would very much like to know more of her.
Assuming, of course, the princess was still alive after this session of being boiled alive.
