A domain ruled by a watery warlord of a King sat unchallenged, despite their policies and regulations on outsiders using the lake for profit. To them, the lake was theirs, as was the water that flowed from it across Hyrule... In the eyes of their warlord, they were the masters of their own destinies, and the destinies of what they considered to be theirs, with no care to what happened to the other races that may deal with consequence. It was as Nex had once said…
Not all Zora thought this way, but the influence of the King had likely spread to his closest… And so, this point of view was what people tended to see, the point of the view… That seemed to represent the fish men and women of now. But they would be challenged today. Not by those who opposed their leader's views, no... But by anarchy. They would be challenged by unbridled rage, unbridled malice... A mere... Lust for destruction. At a time that it was sure that King @nex would be at his throne, the shadows would open up around the domain... How? Who knows? It was as though the shadows themselves opened up, almost portal or vortex-like… They looked as though they may threaten to suck you in, just as it may have been there to send something out. But the fact was, the shadows…
The shadows were alive. And they were open.
And out stepped a small army of monsters.
They came from nowhere, just as they had in Castle Town months before. Bokoblins first, the foot infantry... They carried an array of weapons, from clubs to swords, varying in skill with a keen eye being able to tell it by the weapon they carried. Their eyes were soulless black… Unlike the monsters one saw in the field, their irises were black, pure black… Something was different about them besides that, though, and it was in the way they walked. The Bokoblins did not walk with a slouch, they stood straight and narrow, their weapons in proper position. Their weapons remained un-cared for and uncivilized… And yet their stance conveyed a much more intelligent and battle-worthy species than they actually were. They walked, marched first regardless… Knowing their kind would be the first mowed down in battle. Then came their Moblin superiors. Like their Bokoblin cousins, the Moblins had visible iris, and yet that was that… The iris was pitch black. Their expressions were stern, they did not have those dopey, open-mouthed expressions they normally wore. Their slouch also, had faded, they stood up straight and narrow and their spears were lined straight, seeming ready to go for precision to gut every fish in their vicinity. Both species in this group were clearly far, far more dangerous than the variations one generally met in the field, just by a gauge of their stance. It was as though a force was controlling them, amplifying them… Moblins were dangerous on their own, but the aquabian people would truly be tested by these amplified monsters. This phenomenon was not new, exactly. It had been seen and documented just recently in a stir caused by a group of Bokoblins. But for their superiors to get the same boost? Who knew what destruction they could cause? But unlike the last large scale attack, they and their brethren weren't alone this time, no... This time, they were accompanied by Stalchildren, who generally only appeared at night but used the shade that the cave of the Domain brought to shield them from the sunlight enough to appear.
They were flanked as well by spiders of skeletal frame, their hard, skeleton-like front protecting their soft undersides from most attack. Skulltullas were dangerous, especially in a more close quarters area such as this, but their mobility was incredibly limited one might note as they would attach themselves to the ceiling soon after appearing.
Finally, behind them, were the commanders, clearly. Two Stalfos, who stayed behind to let their minions do the work. The glowing eyes behind their skulls were still there, but they had a strange, different sort of glow to them.. Stalfos were already refined swordsmen, wielding a sword and shield each, but the possibility that they may be amplified…
The premise was terrifying.
The monsters would attack within moments after they popped up, giving the Zora guards only a few precious moments to spot them and prepare their blades, before the monsters would fall on them...
Somewhere nearby, one of the Zora would shoot a flare, indicating an attack in the Throne Room. The rest of the Zora in the Domain and around the Lanayru province would know then to return to the throne room to protect their people, and their King...
---------
Being in close range of Lake Hylia, the flare would be seen from Castle Town. Unlike the Zora, the Hylians would likely not know the meaning without a working relationship with the Zora. This working relationship had not been established by King Leon El Hyrule and relations had soured after Nex's decrees about tolls and permits in regards to transportation on the water, water businesses, and the like. But a commotion amongst the soldiers of Hyrule training in the barracks, and some sort of proclamation, would drive the acting Knight Captain to the throne room.
"King Leon, sir!" He would exclaim as he would kneel before the King Of Hyrule. "A flare was shot from Zora's Domain! We're not entirely sure what may be the cause, but one of our soldiers claimed that it meant the Domain was in danger and shot off toward the Domain without waiting for the signal, despite the order to stop. We're still trying to figure out who it was and reprimand him for not following orders, Your Grace, but if it's possible that the realm of the Zora is in danger...
Your Majesty, shall we mobilize?"
Not many outsiders knew that the Zora would fire a flare to signal that the Domain was in danger, to bring their people together to combat the threat... But if one was well-read, they may have chanced upon the fact written down.
The fact was... Zora's Domain and it's people were in grave danger.
OOC: Zoras @arias and @anastasia should likely recognize the flare when they see it. Anyone under the Royal Family banner (Leon El Hyrule, Josh Dragelion, Nador Vakarian, @crystal, @nami) has been made aware of the flare's intentions, and may either wait for the King to potentially mobilize their forces, or make for the Domain on their own. Others are free to pursue the source of the flare for their own reasons, if they wish.
