It was the kind of fall morning that is just... way too goddamn humid. There was a storm in the air, maybe in the afternoon, but that left the early hours muggy, damp, and overall unpleasant. Tally sighed, looking down from her fogged-up window at the fields below, and rubbed her nose. Damned weather. It was a chore to pull on a shirt and stumble to breakfast, but she managed. Waving a goodbye to her father, who was roughly as awake as she was, she stuffed a piece of bread in her mouth and grabbed a clay tumbler to fill with some water for tea, a soft glow suffusing the water as she heated it magically. She thought a mildly incoherent prayer to Din as she yawned her way out the door to start the day.

The end of her tea found her dripping from the hayloft, looking down at the bales on the floor. Today... sucks. She wiped the sweat from her brow with a kerchief, then descended the ladder to collect the next bale. Squinting, she picked it up in one arm, then pulled herself up the ten feet to the loft one-handed, hucking it up with a groan of effort. This process repeated four more times, until finally, she lay atop the pile of bales, panting. "None of you appreciate me," she breathed in fake irritation at the horses below. The scent of hay and the gentle breathing of the horses as they munched their morning flakes of the selfsame hay was soothing, and she shut her eyes, drinking in that special calm only found in the early morning.

What a shame that this loft was directly above the main entrance of the barn...
