Progress. More progress in just a short while than she'd otherwise made in a while; or certainly, a definite acceleration thereof. Even then, though, there was yet more progress to be made, for certain. Most of all for the fact that, well... there were several things that she'd pointedly missed for a long time, such as an actual control method. But she could never have been expected to come up with everything on her own, could she?

Though she was still going to do a lot, busy though she was with some other things as well. Even getting away from her slowly budding settlement up in the Sky Province was necessary from time to time... even though her occasional experiments had likely drawn some noise complaints when she went down to her little corner of the Hyrule Field. Or, on occasion, something of an old hovel that had belonged to... some member of her family, or a family friend, or... well, she wasn't clear on the details, but it was somewhere on ground level around the outskirts of the city she'd only recently begun to visit that she could make use of. Most importantly, so that she wouldn't have to leave anything out in the open, or risk things blowing away.

Though, even so, the fairly opened-up space was no less messy, in its own way, with papers scattered all about here and there held down by small rocks. For all intents and purposes, though, the main point of interest appeared to be... a simple ship. One with wheels, comprised of a reasonably lightweight metal, and of rather different craft even for as small as it was, but a ship all the same. Ultimately naught more than a model she'd been able to finish up for the purpose of minor tests, but there'd still been preparations made that it would fly... in time, once the wings and 'core' were crafted and installed for it.

For Letia herself, though... well, breaks were still needed time and again, after all. Even if it also let her keep a bit of her periodic Din magic practice going, a few feathered fingers alight in a soft flame keeping warm what appeared to be some form of kebab held by the aquamarine-feathered Rito calmly sat just outside the building, away from the usual streets and the gazes of other people going by elsewhere.

A sound, hmm? Then something... inside? Well, there were probably other entrances or such things, Letia supposed. And at worst, she had her magic should she need it, along with being nicely proficient with the sword at her hip -- along with the several tools in the toolbelt around her waist, if it came to it. It probably wouldn't come to that, of course, but there were things to occasionally be said for improvisation.

Still, for now, there was at least one bite of food to finish off, the Rito calmly enough wandering back inside with that bit done. Then... a Hylian girl, it seemed, though one that Letia hadn't previously seen or met... not that that said much about someone who spent most of her days up in the skies. All the same, regardless of anything else, Marianne would easily enough hear a somewhat sharp click of a beak from by the main entrance, a friendly expression upon her face all the same.

"Try not to bang around too much, please. It's... well, some of it is a bit, well... finicky, I suppose I could say?" she thoughtfully hummed, before shrugging it off. Then again, it didn't have a 'core' to presently power it, nor wings... but well, anything out of place would still be a bit of an issue, as she'd occasionally found in the past. Even if she hadn't really had an actual successful run as of yet.

"Well, that aside!" the Rito spoke next, idly discarding the stick that previously held her food off to the side for now. Perhaps not the... cleanest or most dignified person around, certainly, but she got by fine all the same. "I'm Letia; not really the owner of this place, as such, but some family friends are letting me use it. I suppose you might be looking for me, then? That or taking shelter, maybe... though there's not really weather to take shelter from," she suggested with an idle shrug, her head curiously quirked slightly.

Hmm... she could tell that sort of thing, could she? A metalworker of some sort, maybe? She didn't terribly look it... but Letia herself was hardly one to talk, on that matter. But for the fact that she always had a toolbelt on wherever she went, she wasn't certain that she looked much of anything. But well, that was an entirely different matter for right now.

Now, she supposed, were matters she would've likely been concerned about... had she not been such an absurdly free-spirited bird, for better or worse.

"Oh, are there people already talking about that sort of thing? Well, I suppose some people could probably have seen some of the tests by now... though most probably just heard the, well... noise. An open field isn't really as quiet as it could be, I suppose..." she hummed, mostly to herself, before idly shrugging it off. Given recent events, she was no longer the only one working on it besides. There was that matter, then... and the other matter of Marianne's question, then.

"As for whether it flies, well... sort of?" Letia mused, reaching up to momentarily rub a little at the back of her head. In the meanwhile, she wandered over herself to what appeared to be some sort of small, though mildly complex, control panel, with some form of control stick on either side and a few other miscellaneous, yet unmarked things besides. "It... gets off the ground and goes somewhere, at least. And the core doesn't detonate any more. Well. Usually," she muttered, allowing herself a small, nervous click of the beak. At least, it mostly hadn't in her manual tests, some several revisions and additions later. "But that part isn't in right now, so you don't have to worry about that!" she quickly assured all the same, briefly recalling what she'd said just previously and hoping not to make... that bad of an impression.

"Well... I guess the shorter version is that it tries. It's not there quite yet, and this one in particular's just an incomplete model for now. But, since everything seems stably in place... I guess you'd probably want to climb in and see what it's like?" she suggested with a little grin. Granted, there wasn't much an abundance of space for how small it had to be for now... but there were seats for two, both pilot and a single passenger, along with a fairly open top, somewhat akin to a standard, small boat for now. There were still bigger models to come in time... but not 'til they at least had something working.

Were they not? Hmm... well, there was no doubt at least a few had seen or heard things off in Hyrule Field; she'd always known there was no avoiding that much. Not that she'd intended to anyway, really. After all, the point was for more people to know about it... well, when it actually flew properly.

"Just don't yank anything too hard, and it should be fine for now," Letia offered with a little nod. "Like I said, everything should be stable... but it's also just a model, so I'll need to fix up various things regardless of anything else," she added, starting to idly glance around the little makeshift workshop a little. The Hylian wasn't as tall as her, after all; might need a bit of extra height to properly get in, or something. Then... well, an old 'core' model would do well enough, she supposed. In some severe state of disrepair, granted, but it didn't take too much for her to carry it over and set it securely enough on the floor. Even if it was a bit uneven in many ways, it would at least help for a bit of a boost.

"That should do, I think, and I can help you up if you need it," she offered with a little grin. "And go ahead and ask whatever you want, if you'd like. I can't promise I can answer everything -- after all, not everything's working quite right yet -- but I can answer what I can."

It seemed, then... that the girl would probably be alright. Though Letia could stand by regardless just in case, particularly given the uneven footing. On the next question that was to come, though, the Rito let out a curious little hum... before it seemed it came to the 'how'. That... had changed a fair bit even in a short period, she had to admit.

"Well... it used to flap its wings," she admitted, even with an embarrassed little click of her beak. "Let's just say that turned out to be rather... unstable. It did get off the ground, several times, don't get me wrong! But for now, there were just too many moving parts to manage it well, so it's going to something a bit more... efficient, just to get something working," she offered by means of explanation, before exhaling a small, curious hum. "It's still going to be a bit tricky... but once this one is working properly, I expect I'll be helping out with getting larger models working, and try and reconfigure one of my previous models on the side. It doesn't feel quite right to a Rito like me to have wings that don't flap, after all!" she added with a little grin.

All things in time, though; first things first, they at least needed a working, stable model.

"Oh, but I guess that doesn't quite answer the question, does it?" she mused. "Well... the short version is it'll have a propulsion system, and the wings are just there for direction. Though as you can probably see, it'd take a bit of getting used to to fly it properly, once it is up in the air... but I hope the control sticks are self-explanatory enough?"

'What', hmm? That was... a rather complicated question. With a light hum, Letia seemed to consider it, even idly glancing a bit over the small, makeshift workshop... and all the different 'core' models and blueprints and other small things it ultimately housed. There had been... any number of issues and shortcomings over the years she alone, for the most part, had been working on the project, that had steadily been shored up, especially of late. But now, though?

"A skyship! Or at least, that's what I call it," she spoke to that point first, putting on a little grin. "As to the 'problem', then, it's been any number of things. The weight wasn't right, the wings broke off, the core... well, detonated, like I said," she mused, with an awkward little click of her beak. "Right now... never minding the problems I'd have to fix with my old models, I don't think I can say there's really a problem, exactly. Sometimes the core stops, or the wind doesn't flow quite right... on this one, a piece of the control mechanism had snapped, but I think I've figured that one out," she further mused, before giving a small shrug. "It just needs... a few more adjustments for now, a few more tests. But well, this is something nobody's really done before, isn't it? So I guess that's just natural," she suggested in turn, idly trailing a finger along to the rear, that still had a few installations and adjustments of its own to be made.

"I don't quite get the impression that you're a craftsperson, then... a scholar of some sort, shall I guess? Well, not that I really have room to talk; I'm just some oddball who's been working on this for several years now before getting a bit of help recently," she curiously asked.

"That's about it, yes!" Letia affirmed with a little nod. Close but far, she could even say... depending just how well further adjustments went. At the least, it was already far closer to proper functioning than her previous models had been, which had been a much-needed boon for how long she'd been... well, floundering a little, were she to be honest with herself. Not that she hadn't made any progress... but sometimes another set of eyes were just needed.

Then... not a scholar? Well, it sounded like she was about on the right track, at least. Though the girl was also being a bit... vague, perhaps? Well, but perhaps the Rito herself couldn't talk, with the way she simply chattered on sometimes with whatever might cross her mind... never mind that little detail, then, Letia meanwhile giving a little nod.

And then, suggestions of things she couldn't say she'd really heard of before; probably more ground-level matters. "Mm... well, those would admittedly be rather new to me. Let us say... I've spent most of my time and experiments up in the sky, and I haven't really come back down here enough to be terribly familiar with things," she admitted, putting on an awkward little grin.

"But! That's not of course to say that I'm against trying something new, if it might work. I've been stuck on this for so long that even another set of eyes already gave it a pretty nice push forward," she offered. "As for the core, though... flowing air, a lot of moving parts, some monster bits with magic still settled in them, and a bit of a magic trigger besides," she added. And, as if by demonstration, reached up to briefly snap her fingers -- or something like it -- a small burst of fire indeed triggering from them. It had always been... efficient, she'd found, and there was still yet more she could do with it, once she got even better with it. "They've gotten... a lot more stable now that there's less pressure on them, but if these... 'ember seeds'? If they're easier to retrieve, they could be a fair replacement, after a bit of testing with them to make sure they don't... well. To make sure I can keep them from turning out like that one," she mused, giving a little nod to the one she'd set down to use as a stepping stool, misshapen though it had become.

"Although... I admit, I think these thoughts may be about enough for now! Nothing against them, of course; like I said, I'm always open for ideas, especially since I've gone into this from a bit of learning up around town and a lot of experimenting! But change something too much, too fast, and it may stop working so well, right?" she suggested with a little grin. Not a criticism, by any means... though now that she was so close especially, she didn't wish to change too much. "Though if you wished to have one personally for yourself, that could probably be arranged, once things have come along?"
