'Blind dates', someone had said?

Well... Letia had never really been on a date, truth be told. Though she'd also only been around others in general rather sporadically over the last several years she'd spent of her life living up on a solitary island of the Sky Province, where she could freely do her experimenting and tinkering. Recent events had showed her that she probably should have even earlier, but... well, never mind it. Though she'd been wandering the city to try and gather ideas for various things, and see how other people worked down on the ground level, this particular prospect was a bit too intriguing to pass up. After all, she did quite like learning new things... and well, learning how dates worked might not help her with her own work, but it was still at least a curiosity.

So she'd come, off to this 'Sailing Sunsets' place that appeared to be freshly opening. Where at least a few others seemed to be sitting together, that she could observe a little from afar but not interfere with, tempting though it was in some part. Calmly humming to herself as she wandered along to get her number -- and in turn, her table -- the Rito set herself to a seat for now, her eyes calmly wandering any given way. Someone, then... presumably someone would be coming to her table, and presumably it wouldn't be any sort of swap, else she was certain she'd have heard of that particular detail. So... would it be them? Them, perhaps? Each one that came, amber eyes remained fixed on until it appeared they were off to a different table, all in all a curious little mix of different races. At least, until a woman would indeed wind up at her table -- perhaps not quite what Letia had been expecting, but she wasn't complaining -- the Rito herself offering a friendly little smile.

"Sorry in advance if I'm not really... familiar with how this sort of thing goes!" she offered -- as good a way to start things out as any, she figured. "I'm Letia, by the way. And you are...?"

[attr="class","dibody3"]Was Chaska really so anti-social? A few of her fellow guards had chided her for being such a grump about the coming festivities. Acts of love and devotion, date nights and chocolates, roses and wine... She found it all a bit arbitrary. Why did there need to be a special day set aside to show someone you loved them? If she had someone, she'd try to show that at least a bit more than for one day...? And yet she didn't have anyone, so she really made herself a target. It wasn't that she didn't believe in romance, or love... It was just hard for her to imagine someone wanting to actually be with her. In the long-term, at least.

Partially to stop their chiding, and partially because she was interested, Chaska signed up for the new tavern's "date night" event. How could she not? There'd be food and drinks on the house, so long as she participated and had a date with a random stranger. All the better to get out of the stuffy castle.

Chaska had at least made an attempt to dress up a bit. Her usually unruly, white hair was pulled back and secured with a bow, with the long tresses secured in a plaited braid, with yet another bow at the bottom to tie the hair together. She wore a red dress, in a style traditional to some of her people. It wasn't every day that she wore a dress, which was why she grumbled and scowled as she made her way through the crowd. There were no pockets to put her hands in. It was entirely too breezy, with the slit going up the side of her thigh; and yet, she knew she looked good~ It was just uncomfortable to stray from her habits.

The Sheikah soon arrived at the tavern, and was lead inside. At her table was a pretty-plumed Rito. Chaska approached and gave a curt nod as Letia began speaking to her already. She had finished settling herself down into her chair as Letia finished, introducing herself and asking for a name in return. "Uh, Chaska..." she replied, flashing a quick, nervous smile, "I've never done anything like this either. But we get free food out of it, so..." She bit her lip. That probably didn't sound as good as she thought.

Ah, and the Hylian -- no, Sheikah? well, whatever exactly she was, for as little as it mattered -- was even dressed... well, rather better than the Rito was. Then again, Letia herself hadn't much come here expecting... anything like this. Though at least the white, somewhat loose-fitting shirt looked decently nice, she supposed, along with a simple enough dress besides, and her toolbelt... well enough hidden, both by shirt and table.

Next time, perhaps she'd just have to... consider her dress a bit better when she came into the city. If she remembered to... but never mind that little detail that she couldn't change right now.

'Chaska', then, Letia quickly noted... and looking about as nervous as the Rito sometimes felt in busier places like this, where there was just so much to see and do. Likely better than several alternatives, she inwardly mused. "True! It is quite a nice little thing, especially when I'm... erm... well, don't really have much since a lot of things I've been doing lately are a bit, well... costly..." she trailed off into a bit of a mumble, and a small, embarrassed little click of her beak. Perhaps... that wasn't the best way to start either, was it? Positive note, or something like that, right?

"Well, that aside... maybe it's not so bad that we're both new to this? We can, y'know, pick things up on the fly -- so to speak -- and we might even have a better time than if one of us had their own ideas about it and the other didn't like it," she suggested, seeming to brighten up easily enough with a cheery little smile.

"So for now maybe... we could start with drinks, and I could ask you what sort of job you usually do? Unless you want me to say first, of course!" she thoughtfully suggested in turn, giving a slight, curious tilt of her head.
