The son of Chief Solveig Gor-Rordundo, there was always a fair bit of pressure on young Dorzuma to do great things. Built like a rock and physically strong, many may have looked to Dorzuma as a potential leader for the Tribe in the years to come if not for the fact he was the youngest, and certainly not as strong as Solveig's older son. Or even the Goron he adopted and chose as his successor - Dormagoro. In fact, this left Dorzuma in a bit of a predicament: What was he to do with his life? The pressure hadn't gone away, but it wasn't like he could shoot for a role already crowded with contenders that in his eyes, were much greater than he.
But truthfully, it didn't bother him. Dorzuma was plenty capable of fighting when it came to it, but he never had the excitement for it that his sibling did. In fact, he didn't tend to fight unless it was necessary. But it still posed the issue of what exactly Dorzuma wanted to do with his life. Would he choose to fight as a defender of his tribe? Become a merchant of some sort? Or something else entirely? As Dorzuma hit adulthood, that question was still to be answered. But with the war ongoing, it put even more pressure on him to choose. He had fought to protect Death Mountain during the Battle of Eldin, but that was out of necessity to protect his home and family. But something that spurred him to action was the sacrifice of his sort-of adopted sibling, Dormagoro. During a trek to the Goron Mines to retrieve a piece of the Mirror of Twilight, Dorma sacrificed himself to save his Chief and ensure that the mission was successful. Dorzuma mourned for a Goron he had grown close to during his childhood, but his act made him realize that if he was to find himself and be of use somewhere, he could not do so by sitting around pondering.
He was now a man, and it was time for him to grow up and be one. That meant spreading his rocky wings and rolling forward into new horizons. So it was that young Dorzuma, only a young rock, left the safety of Goron City and the protective arms of his legendary father to see the world for himself. Somewhere along the way, Dorzuma picked up an interest in music after hearing a man in Hyrule City play an incredible, stone-moving tune that churned the hearts of many. It brought joy where there was none to be found, and in a time like this, perhaps people needed more of that.
On a whim, Dorzuma utilized the lessons his father had given him, and crafted a large warhammer made of stone that also happened to serve as a very large lute. So it was that Dorzuma began to learn to play music. He was a dedicated study, and a pretty decent singer too. But his wordplay still needs some work. Not to mention dealing with the hurdle that his large appearance could be quite intimidating. For now, this was his path. He didn't know if this would be where his sun would set, but it was as good a start as any for this bright-eyed, optimistic young Goron. Perhaps one day, he would find where and how he belonged in the land of Hyrule.
