When their seeds are planted, eventually a Deku Baba will sprout and can be tamed. They are small, vicious plants that lunge out when approached. They do not do much damage, but they are quick and have a tendency to spring up out of nowhere. The Baba cannot survive for long outside of the soil without quickly being moved to another patch, but the Baba and its soil can be moved as necessary without harming it.

A shipment of crop seeds meant for Ordon Village were waylaid by monsters in Faron Woods. Some of the contents were spilled out, and it turns out that the shipment had accidentally been stocked with the wrong seeds! None know where the seeds came from, but now Deku Baba are ravaging the roads in Faron Woods and disrupting trade.
