Speaking of nightfall, for the two of them, the sky would almost seem as if it were nightfall already. The blizzard that whipped around the mountain top was powerful. It was natural only in the sense of occurrence, but the beast they intended to stand against made itself known, carrying with it a freezing aura of magic.[break][break]
Just as a normal white wolfos, the beast that step forward seemed to shimmer in the snow, ice crystals in it's fur forming from the magic that coursed through it, except this beast was much larger than a normal white wolfos, and if the marks on it's body and the grey, even in it's pure white coat, said anything, it was that this wolfos was
very old. As to what happened to it could be a mystery saved for later, as runes along the beast's body lit up a howl, revealing that the ominous cries they had been hearing were this beast, and the runes themselves lit up enough to show chains wrapped around the beast's torso and leg.[break][break]
With it's howl, the blizzard returned to a more natural status, allowing Vladimir to lower his shoulders. The creature locked eyes with the two of them, starting with the mage, then the warrior, a single eye judging them both. For a moment, the only thing that moved was the wind and it's fur.[break][break]
"Twisted." Vladimir murmured before looking to Josh. There was more light to see more clearly now that the magic had been pulled from the immediate area. If Josh observed, he'd see not only runes, chains, a single eye and a very large wolfos. He'd also see numerous fight scars, and surrounding them would be other white wolfos, laying patiently in the distance, watching.
"Those runes. I'd like to study them. They appear to be infusions of a sort. I'd reckon we're staring right into the eyes of an old, escaped experiment."[break][break]
The 'wolfos', if that's what it could be called anymore, would watch the two a moment longer before spreading their paws in the snow, and a challenging look in their eyes. The tail was down as well, signifying that they were more than likely challenging them to a fight. Vlad locked eyes with Frostbite and felt a chill shoot down his spine. If Josh did as well, he'd feel the same effect. The warning Frostbite continued to deliver had been ignored, now it's motives seemed unclear, but it was clear by body language that it wasn't looking to kill, not yet.
