personality
To say Dalvidyl is an amiable character would be completely wrong but don't mistake him for a monster. The Sheikah is aloof, uncaring of the world and its problems. He was raised without question, to accept what is and change what is permitted. It became a personal mantra for him, although it was given to him along with other members as a creed. Such words left a lasting impact on him that to stray from it would be suicide. Of course, such teachings were dead in the valley of the damned so some adjustments were to be made. That doesn't mean he's willing to go out of his way to save people unless it meant to ensure his survival, for he wanders aimlessly without ambitions - the call of his people for action long dead. Dalvidyl since then has developed a high tolerance for pain and people, namely the latter because even in death, those people are much louder than they ever were.
That brings us to his particular connection with the dead. Life in Ikana Valley has strengthened his spirit with those of the departed, in which much like Vladimir and Nova, has heightened his senses to supernatural entities. This also expands to identifying certain auras of benevolence or malicious intentions, which had helped him survive thus far. Naturally, such affinity to spirits are damning and without a lapse in voices, are often overwhelming on a daily basis. Nonetheless, the Sheikah has grown attached to the voices, often alluding them to a continuous song of love, sorrow and hatred. In fact, he doesn't seem bothered by them at all, as noted by his calm demeanor.
Dalvidyl isn't a bad guy but he sure isn't good. Only time will tell where his aimless wander will lead him.
appearance
A macabre figure to most, often alluded to a walking corpse by all. Dalvidyl is the living example of torment, for his maimed and scarred body is what people fixate on his tall, lanky form. The burns on his body are unusual in appearance, as if the flames had burned skin deep into a dark char leaving hardened muscle exposed. However, some areas where the damage reached are disturbingly dressed in what appears to be skin, namely upon his face, fingers and other parts of his body unseen. What even makes his appearance even more unsettling is the myriads of metal stables that keep on his façade.
Still, despite his appearance, the Sheikah is often garbed in simple clothing, unkempt for aesthetic or lack of concern for appearances. There is also a manner of his piercing gaze, a trait often found in the Sheikah, that he carries yet instead of the deep crimson glare, only pools of azure are to be found. Only Dalvidyl would know of the reason as to why.
biography
guidance and training, it could just as peaceful as anywhere. That's what his parents told him and those words resonated well with his mentors in the hidden village of Ikana Valley. The place never fazed him, even as a young child who only sought after the spirits that enveloped most of the land. Those spirits had woven stories and blood upon the stone, tales of a forgotten era that ended in absolute death and destruction. Truthfully, young Dalvidyl never truly understood what the dead spoke of, for what intrigued him the most of their conversations was the pain and emotion behind it. He never had such strong feelings for anyone, not even his own parents. Perhaps it was the oppressive atmosphere that curbed his emotional growth as a child but for as long as he could remember, he wasn't on the same wavelengths as anyone. That is until he was eventually paired up with another.
Time moved on yet the village remained the same. Dalvidyl was unclear on the Sheikah's goals in such a desolate place, but that didn't stop the continuous training regiments they had undergone. Like most children born within the tribe, they had a duty to their creed and in a unforgiving place such as Ikana Valley, that meant a lot more than anything else. Death was commonplace, even among their ranks due to the violent nature the land delved in. Old blood feuds still remain as strong as ever, leaving the Sheikah of the valley caught in the crossfire and to some extent, joined the conflict for whatever reasons there were. Dalvidyl was was a youngling and never questioned authority like most children, but when it came to the stage of being granted greater privilege and responsibility, the young boy was paired up with a curious child named Vladimir. At first, he thought nothing of the kid, noting Vlad's unruly attitude, self-isolating behavior and lack of attention. Nonetheless, Dalvidyl carried on as told and hardly said a word to his partner-in-training, but often thought of him as bit of a crybaby at the time. More time went on as their skills developed in unison, their tolerant of one another seemingly as high as the sky itself for they held no qualms with each other. To some respect, they rightfully acknowledged each other's abilities and skills.
Together, they were one of the few notable duos of the village, successful in their tasks and well-trained for those of ages so young. However, there were a few close-calls and for Vladimir, one that led him to serious injury due to his reckless nature. Thankfully, Dalvidyl was there for support, even if it left lasting scars for his partner. The raven-haired Sheikah wasn't bothered by it, often apathetic to such injuries. However, Vladimir was integral to his own survival out in the badlands and with him as his partner thus far proved to that their capabilities together far outweighed the rate of failure and death. Dalvidyl had to keep him alive, for the tribe and his own mortality - one that cost him his own skin due to the Garo incident. It was that day he truly felt pain, the searing flesh that melted away from red sinew, the incontrollable blaze that burned bright against the canyon walls while the spirits that dwelled laughed, cried and spat. The experience was massive yet brief and just as Dalvidyl had come to Vladimir's aid, his partner had also came to his. The both of them watched each other's back for some time, until they were granted the responsibility of a full-fledged member of the Sheikah tribe.
Thus, the camaraderie ended shortly after. Once Vladimir was granted as a full tribe member, he left the village and Ikana Valley. Of course, Dalvidyl such a day would come, for he saw his partner from afar, atop of the canyon without a single word to be said. Nothing could be said between them, for their motives differed greatly. Dalvidyl was loyal to the creed and with Vladimir being the outsider with no roots, he left the home the never existed. The disappointment was there and remained like a ghost, forever haunting that blood-ridden valley.
It's been two years since then. No word left the valley, for the dead reclaimed it some time ago. However, Dalvidyl was a survivor and with his home in shambles, decided to follow the footsteps of his long-lost partner.
