The Princess skipped along easily alongside the farmboy, her bright eyes taking the scenery of her beloved city like a puppy thirsting for milk. She looked happy, even while her face still look as tired as before and she occasionally yawned behind her palm. Though she never took Josh's arm from the start, she kept close to him so that she wouldn't lose him in the crows. People who passed by them thought they were walking together, and generally gave the two a wide berth to pass rather than cut straight between them. A Guardswoman relieved from duty and a muscular farmer boy. They didn't raise any eyebrows at all in the bustling street of Hyrule Castletown.
Josh led them to a small inn with faded red bricks, tables neatly placed and perhaps a set of lodging rooms outside. Marianne visibly sniffed the aroma wafting from the kitchen and her face brightened.
"Quite a nice place," she commented, happily looking around and assessing the other patrons, "Do you come here often, Sir Josh?"
They were then led to a table. It was rather in the side area, not directly in the corner but hugging the wall. Perfect to not attract immediate attention. After the waiter left the guardswoman lingered a while beside her chair, as if half-expecting Josh to pull her chair for her and seated her. He didn't, sitting himself in front of her instead. So the princess, for reasons yet unknown, rather awkwardly used her elbow and one of their legs to pull her chair before seating herself. She had a little difficulty, but she managed.
"You had something you wished to discuss with me?" Josh inquired softly.
Marianne raised her eyebrows at the knight's slightly secretive manner. "Well, yes. That was the idea. But before that, Sir Josh, shouldn't we order something first and have it prepared as we speak? I don't know about you but that smell is so tantalizing. Here-" And at this she bumped her right elbow to her hip, from which the rupee pouch dangling there made crinkling sounds, "If you would be so kind as to reach down a little and take my pouch to pay, please? I have some...um...difficulties holding it, myself so I need help. Sorry. Oh, and I'd order a bread and any thick soup they have. Preferably one with vegetables and seafood? Sand crabs are in season this early in fall, I think."
She then leaned forward, her head pointed towards Josh. "Would you also mind helping me take off my helmet for me? It would be very strange eating with this thing on!"
