Full Name: Rularu Groupan
Alias: "Ruru" (only one person is allowed to call her that)
Age: 19
Birthday: Spring
Race: Zora
Occupation: Zora Princess/current heir
Pronouns: She/Her
School of Magic: Nayru
Beast Form:: Newt
[attr="class","section"]Appearance
Rularu, like many Zora, has a relatively slender build with somewhat shorter legs than most other species compared to the rest of her body. Her skin around the top of her head, arms and legs is a soft blue color, while the rest of her body is a soft white. Her fins are similar to most Zora, being light blue with a yellow stripe around the rim. Still being fairly young, the tail fin on her head that most Zora are known for having has yet to grow out. Her eyes are violet.
Like many Zora, she doesn't bother much with clothing, seeing no need for it since she spends a good portion of her time underwater. That said, she is adorned with a lot of jewelry as befitting a Zoran princesses, along with a decorative sash across her chest. Most noticeably, she wears a necklace with a pendant that resembles an ancient Zora treasure, the Zora's Sapphire. This particular necklace has been passed down her family for generations, and is easily recognizable to other Zora as proof that she is royalty.
[attr="class","section"]Personality
Rularu is, in spite of her father's best efforts, a textbook case of a classic spoiled princess. She's haughty, thinks very highly of herself due to her status as royalty, and tends to be easily offended when she believes she's not getting the respect she thinks she deserves. Which can be translated as "doesn't drop what they're doing to worship the ground she walks on". While never outright hostile towards anyone, she can nonetheless be very rude, condescending and insensitive.
Despite the above, however, she's not completely heartless. For one, she is a honest and noble girl. If she sees someone being attacked by a monster or lying on the ground injured, she will not hesitate to rush to their aid. She'll probably spend the rest of the day bragging about how much they should feel honored to have been saved by her, but, for better or worse, she'll always help someone in need. She also takes any threat to the Zora people as a whole with deadly seriousness.
Either way, she has a lot of maturing and growing up to do, and she's going to need to learn eventually that there's more to being royalty than going around and flaunting that you're royalty. Still, in spite of her many flaws, she has the potential to be a great leader some day, and it's enough for her father to not give up hope for her. It might be hard to see when her noblewoman's laugh is echoing in your eardrums, but it's there.
[attr="class","section"]History
Rularu was born to King Rivan Groupan and his wife, making her the new heir to the Zora royal family. Because her father was a bit overly-protective of her, however, she ended up getting rather spoiled and sheltered in spite of his best efforts to avoid doing so. He spent the next several years of his life trying to undo that by giving her a lot more freedom than one would normally expect of a royal princess, which, needless to say, yielded interesting results.
While growing up, Rularu was a bit of a rebel, and despite taking great pride in her status as the Zora princess, had a habit of doing things very atypical of a Zora princess. At a young age, she "convinced" (i.e. badgered until they gave in) a Hylian knight who happened to be a close ally of her father into teaching her how to fight with a two-handed sword, as she found herself much more fascinated by that than the far more traditional spears of the Zora people.
Rather than it being a doomed endeavor that would hilariously blow up in her face like a lot of Zora assumed this would be, she actually turned out to have quite the aptitude for it, and the young royal quickly proved to have quite a lot of potential as a warrior. Her father, for very understandable reasons, had some very mixed feelings about this. Still, when she actually focused on something productive, it was hard for him to not see that her potential as a leader.
This all culminated into Rularu getting bored of being confined to Zora's Domain and Lake Hylia. She wanted to go out and explore the rest of Hyrule. Much to her shock, her father didn't even resist. In fact, he seemed to actively encourage it. Rularu had a lot of maturing to do, that was for sure. But this might just be what she needs to grow as a person, and he was confident that she could handle any hardships that would be placed before her.
Thus, with the unexpected blessing of her father, Rularu set off, eager to learn more about the world she lives in, and how everyone how great the princess of the Zora was. Here's hoping her father proves to be right about this experience being what will help her mature.
[attr="class","section"]Misc Info
• Whereas most Zora tend to have a preference for spears or tridents, Rularu, ever the rebellious individual, has shown herself to have much more of an affinity for the silver longsword, an elegant two-handed blade of Zora craft, though it's rarely used by them due to the Zora peoples' aforementioned tendency to favor polearms. The fact that she can wield it with ease shows that Rularu is a lot stronger than she looks.
• Despite this, she's still fairly skilled with a spear, as her father only allowed her to train in fighting with a two-handed sword with the caveat that she also at least learn the basics of fighting with a spear. In the end, she still greatly prefers two-handed swords and is much better with them in battle, but she can still use a spear in a pinch.
• Like most Zoras, her diet consisted primarily of fish and seafood when she was growing up, though going out to explore Hyrule has greatly expanded her horizons. In particular, she has become extremely fascinated by cheese, even going so far as to proclaim that it must be "the nectar of the Goddesses" upon first trying it. While she's not quite that dramatic about it anymore, she still greatly looks forward to any chance that she can get to have some.
• Rularu can be a pretty decent cook, so long as she sticks to a recipe. However, she is woefully ignorant of how cooking works as a science, and, when left to her own devices, tends to "experiment" by combining ingredients that should never in any way be paired with each other for any reason. Her logic is that she likes them separately, so why wouldn't they taste good together? Either way, this rarely ends well, and she never seems to learn her lesson.
• Upon hearing a legend about an ancient Zora warrior being able to sharpen their fins and throw them like boomerangs, she tried teaching herself how to do it because it sounded incredibly cool. Thus far, she hasn't had much luck in this endeavor.
