SALAZAR LEE SKUB
Thirty-Five | Male | Hylian |
N/A | Thief, Nobility | Darkness |
Appearance
Befitting a gentleman of his stature and status, Salazar Lee Skub will never be within the public eye without brandishing the most ravaging of garments, ranging from jewelry bedazzled silk tunics, to lush and verdant fur pelts draped around feathered and silken robes and cloaks. Thinly veiled under his tunics and garments is a thin, yet lanky hylian frame, that which towers over many though with far too little ropey muscle to appear at all intimidating. Salazar's skin is light hue of white, and his face holds a mostly dull complexion with emerald eyes that often appear yellow in the dim light and greasy blonde hair slicked and slathered back. By day ravishing heir to the Skub fortune, and by night the roguishly recondite Crimson Masque, Salazar guises himself as a gentleman thief of sorts, more eloquent and sophisticated then the common rabble amongst his trade. A deceitful dandy sporting a blank white mask with a vacant and soulless stare, etched only with a manic yet false grin. Even in night, Salazar's choice of attire is no less exuberant. His greasy blonde hair slides nestled just under a cylindrical ebony hat with one crimson cloth lining around the brim with red arrows dotting up and around its sides for aesthetics. His tunic is that of a velvety crimson silk with black and purple striped lapels and a tail coat draped just above his achilles. His pants are more of a darker maroon hue, with thin pink stripes lining vertically around his legs. Buckles and gold buttons dot his tunic and pant legs, with a holster for his ebony rapier on the right side. Completing his eloquent attire are a pair of shiny golden cufflinks and a small black tie tightened around his collar.
Personality
Salazar Lee Skub, the gentleman thief known as the Crimson Masque is a theatrical and dramatic master thief with an utterly immeasurable ego. Even with the smallest of movements, Salazar likes to pepper with a dramatic flare, with movements and monologues that often involve brandishing his arms into the heavens. The decadent dandy often likes to show off in battle (or even in general) and is often prone to elaborate monologues and boastful cries. Throughout his theatrics and dramatics however, Salazar will always hold himself to an intense aura of sophistication and elegance. With movements no less theatrical, though entirely graceful in action. Fancying himself a cultured fellow, the Crimson Masque is by all accounts a scholarly and studious gentleman, with a vast knowledge of Hylian, Zora, Gerudo, and even Goron history, dabbling in the study of most cultures and lore in fact, with a particularly extensive knowledge of the arts, including poetry, play writes, and paintings of the world. In fact, most of Salazar's heists revolve around items he deems of cultural or historical importance or relevance, wishing simply to add them to his vast collection. There are few things Skub holds in very high regards, amongst those few is a respect for the arts and history of Hyrule, an adoration of fashion, a strict and zealous adherence to pleasantries and gallantry, and his own very strict, yet twisted moral code. He neither strike nor harm neither lady nor child unless the situation demands it, and will often go out of his way to be chivalrous and courteous towards both. To strike a lady is in his eyes, the ultimate discourtesy, and in his eyes discourtesy is the ultimate sin. He will very quickly and very efficiently remove those he finds discourteous, and is most definetly not above murder, though it is often a last resort. Salazar will also go to fanatical lengths to ensure something of historical relevance or value remains in pristine condition and unharmed, which usually means safely stored within his modest collection within the Skub mansion. Despite these few virtues, Skub is no less a sociopath presenting himself in an ominous, yet flamboyant and mysterious aura. Even out of costume, Salazar and the Skub family are quite reclusive and present themselves with an aura of mystery, often lying or spinning many conflicting tales about his family life and home.
History
Very little is known of Salazar and the Skub family, when in public Salazar will often spin yarns and conflicting tales about his home life. Some may tell of an abusive drunk father beating his children, others may tell of a galavanting family man and hero smiting the forces of darkness. Neither of which are likely true. What is known of the Skub family, is that centuries ago the Skub matron and patron, Matilda Ray and Leopold Harvey Skub respectively founded and amassed a hefty fortune off of a fish hatchery in the lakes. Slowly but surely creeping their way into tenant and farming industries which were inherited by generations of Skubs spanning for decades. This eventually leading to young Salazar Lee Skub, becoming the last known descendant of the Skub bloodline at the age twenty-five. Whatever his youth was like, somewhere along the lines Salazar grew an immeasurable ego and an intense boredom of his mostly leisurely life. Using most of his free time in scholarly and studious, Skub eventually turned to Hyrules underworld for some form of entertainment, training himself in the art of theft and burglary for over six long years, donning the guise of the gentleman thief the Crimson Masque, swindling and stealing items he perceives of historical relevance and value for his own personal collection. At first (as to be expected) a tad clumsy and poor, Salazar refined his techniques until finally becoming the master thief he is today, just recently catching the ire of Hylian law.
MISCELLANEOUS
Salazar's main weapon is that of an ebony rapier with an elaborate golden hilt, this stems from adept skills in fencing and the only sword he knows how to properly use
