At least the girl was nice enough to offer to help. Though Josh tell her she shouldn't actually put their house guests to work. Maude told him they shouldn't offer if they didn't intent to make good on that offer. Not that it mattered. She didn't have anything that needed doing anyways. Maude had already done everything and dinner didn't need making until later. Even if she did, Maude could do it faster and better than Selene could. Simple fact. "I never need help, but maybe I'll think of something for you to do later" The statement sounded a bit threatening.
That meant she'd be forced to actually entertain her guest, which was a shame for Selene. Maude's idea of a good time was yard work and slowly cutting a piece wood into some vague shape and she didn't think anyone else was interested in that. She thought so because she enjoyed it, which always means no one else did because Maude was special and people are dumb like that. None of them had any taste or work ethic. Maude never had common interests with one exception.
After a few seconds of pulling herself away from the unlocked window and scrounging around her kitchen, Maude joined Selene on the couch. Joined on the other side creating an uncomfortable yet very prominent space between them of course. She came with half a plan though. She brought alcohol. People liked alcohol right? Maude certainly did. She set a case of Chateau Romani on the table. It was less potent than the stuff she usually liked, but from what she remembered Selene either didn't drink or didn't drink well. The girl should get some tolerance. Drinking only leads to good things. Take Maude's word for it. "You drink, right? I have somethings without alcohol too if you like. Milk, maybe some cider and..... actually I think that's all I have." Josh and her had simple interests. "I hope that works for you."
Selene MerrowsGirl talk it up, man. It can only be more entertain if Maude is drunk.
