[attr="class","about"]About the character
Appearance
Oh, he's sexy and he knows it. He don't need you to say anything other wise. He may hate his self for his failures, sure, but he's confident as all hell in his body. He's a standard, light blue zora, and his belly is a slightly lighter blue, not by much though. His fins are short, scarred and small, most of his swimming prowess comes from his stream line form.
He's considered buff for a zora, and his jawline is strongly formed, probably from where he and his tribe were trained to fight with their teeth if needed. They were all mostly shark in appearance, and shared many behaviors with sharks during combat. His 8'5 body is lined with scars, linear from combat, and a few stab wounds were they fought with the pirates on occasion here and there.
He wears a black sash around his waist that holds his sword's sheath on his right hip, and the sash has a chain weaved through it, a part of the chain hanging down slightly behind his left hip. He also has a black sash he wears over his shoulder that occasionally carries an extra weapon for him. Or he just wears a rucksack. Around his left arm, he wears a metal ring with his tribe's symbol carved into it, as well as a tattoo sleeve that runs up onto his neck. On his right leg, he has a shackle that is tightly locked around his ankle, but he was able to get the chain off, lessening the drag. Since it wasn't really rubbing or harming him, he's decided to leave it now, as a reminder of how much he failed his own people and how he isn't free from that failure.
Personality
Kamo often looks as if someone had stuck a rotten fish underneath of his nose. He answers in grumbles and often thinks about how shitty the world is, but he isn't really a jerk. He just comes off that way. Ya know, a busted up faith in humanity. Don't worry though, he can speak full sentences that come out in a full voice, it's just that he'd much rather answer with 'mhm' or 'yea. sure' if he doesn't feel like being talkative.
Underneath of his default resting bitch face, he's an almost broken warrior. He spends quite a bit of time thinking of his tribe's massacre, and there isn't much that can take his mind off of it. Survivor's guilt is a hell of a thing. Kamo just feels as if all of it could have been avoided if he was just a bit more attentive. But don't let that put you off. A resting bitch face is just that, his face when he's resting. He can still easily put on a smile for others and show off an air of optimism. Being sad doesn't mean you can't be optimistic! Or even pretend to be!
While he does have his fears, he's beat it into his own head that he has to face them without ever faltering. He'll defend the ones he cares for till his last breath, and that means charging into the danger first and providing a get away. He was brave before the massacre and it's stuck with him to suck it up and tough it out for those around him he learns to care about.
History
Kamo grew up in the deep waters of Great bay, a tribe that lived just outside of Pinnacle rock. Of course, many dumb children who didn't listen to the elders had their lives claimed by the many deep python that lived within the rocks, but Kamo wasn't one of those children. Actually, he wanted to be one of the warriors that hunted the eels when their population began to threaten their home. The same warriors that did battle off and on with the Gerudo pirates that threatened their way of life.
His small tribe was viewed as savage due to how little they had to do when it came to interactions with the rest of the races. They preferred to keep to themselves out in the waters, and fight of those that tried to come into their territory, though for most of the ones, like the Hylian sailors, it was for their safety to keep them far away from the eels of the reef that wouldn't hesitate to take their lives if they tried diving down into the reef to try and find out what was in there.
The "civilized" zora that lived along the coast preferred to stay far away from them, but if needed, the tribe by the reef would come to their aid to help fend off hostiles, or repair anything that may have been damaged by a storm. They weren't as savage as most people made them out to be, they just preferred to stay to themselves.
And Kamohoali'i was ok with this. He had a few friends here or there, and grew up with the warriors of the tribe, focusing on his training with a sword and training on how to bring down pirates as well as other threats. He learned to fight with his jaws if the time called for it too, and turned out to be one hell of a fighter. The only thing that sucked was he wasn't prepared enough when the pirates lashed out with a sudden push of brute force.
Kamo wasn't strong enough to help push them back, and in the end, only wound up getting captured, and only got to take one arm with him instead of a whole Gerudo. He was locked up for the time being, and spent a couple of months in the pirate's holding cells. He got lucky when they went to execute him as well, and they had underestimated him. They sent a newbie to retrieve him, and he was able to over power her for an escape.
From there on, he learned that his tribe had been wiped out, slaughtered in their home and the survivors having stones shackled to them, and dropped to the bottom of the rock. With nothing in the great bay for him anymore, he decided to become a traveling sell sword. He had heard of the monster influx happening in Hyrule, and traveled there, curious as to what he would find. What he found was good enough as well, here, no one associated him with his tribe, and he wasn't frowned upon as a savage. No one could identify his tattoos, or his arm band.
From there, he found some soldiers doing patrols, and inquired about the military there, saying that he hadn't really looked into it much, and that he was a soldier from far away. Once learning about the hyrulean army, he figured out where he could join, and went to sign up for it, starting his training.
Miscellaneous Information
He's a gargantuan suckers for cherry blossoms and clean, beautiful waters.
He seeks to redeem his failures by fighting for the hyrulean army, and focus on continuing his fight to save more lives.
He doesn't enjoy fish, or many kinds of seafood for that fact. Shellfish is an ok though.
He named his Dao "Shark's teeth"
He has a necklace with a shark's tooth on it, and on the back of his tooth there's his initials on one. He carries another one in his satchel though, wrapped up. It's tied to a tradition, don't you worry about that.
