| Ooookay, this was getting a little bit out of hand. Now, Josh could tell by the mannerisms of Yamashi before that perhaps she was a tad bit... Inexperienced, and that was clearly showing itself here. And Solveig clearly had no tolerance for it. While he could see Solveig's point of view, Josh could see that clearly, cooler heads needed to prevail in this instance. And whatever Yamashi was about to say, would likely just further anger the Goron.
Taking a final swig of his water, he would swallow it before rising to his feet. 6'4 he might be, but the Goron still towered over him. But alas, he would walk over, approaching the Goron from the side, and manage to place a firm hand on the Goron's shoulder
"Peace, Brother" He spoke calmly, but warmly at the same time. "I get the impression she has no idea what she's doing in this instance. I see good intentions in her words and her actions, but not a lot of thought behind them. Good intentions alone are well and good, but tact and planning are key values that a leader, especially one for a militia, needs...
Allow me to handle this, Brother. I know the girl. I think she'll get the point a bit better from me, if I word it the proper way. Please, forgive me if you feel I am intruding on your business where I do not belong, Brother Chieftain. But all I see in the future of this conversation is conflict. And the bruises and sores on both of our bodies today says we've seen enough conflict for today."
And with that, he would turn, striding down from the chief's pedestal and down the stairs toward Yamashi. It would be the first time she would see him armored. She likely hadn't even seen him, having been sitting on the side out of the way. But here, he stood showing his true self. She hadn't known he was a warrior. Just a farmboy, who was good with a bow. But now... Well, there was no hiding it now. The insignia of Hyrule was emblazoned on the chestplate of his armor, plate armor, painted gold... A crimson cape blowing behind him as he strode, a swagger in his walk, a confidence in his smile... All things entirely unknown to the Sheikah who had met the farmboy prior. It was as though she were seeing a completely different person. But there was no mistaking that golden-blonde hair, the brown eyes that brimmed with life and clearly knew the fields when he had glanced upon them in the village. But there was a different glimmer in his eyes now... A look on his face, perhaps. One that told he'd seen battle. Many battles, even. He was an experienced warrior, who had faced foes head on time and time again. He'd seen a great many things... Sure, not all that could be taken from just looking at his face, studying his features, but one could get the general idea that he'd seen battle, and quite a bit of it. He hid it well, when he had met her before... Not intentionally. He was relaxed, calm, laid back and casual. It was a disguise, unintentional perhaps, hidden in plain sight. But it was all there to see now.
He stopped in front of her, that smirk never leaving his face. Not one of spite... But confidence. Perhaps a bit of amusement. But his expression was warm. He regarded Yamashi as a friend. That hadn't changed, shortcomings or not. Everyone had them, after all. They were there to learn from.
And then he spoke.
"Dear Yamashi, you do remember me, no?" He would speak calmly, gently... With a warm hint to his tone that also seemed to indicate a tad bit of humor. "If I may spare a moment with your listening ear, sweetheart... I think you're going about this the wrong way with my Sworn Goron brothers. I can see your heart was in the right place, but when you look back at it... Had terms of a treaty not been thought of in the past? They would have to have been, otherwise we would not be where we are now. Planning was needed in this, and I'm afraid it's something you forgot, dear."
A light chuckle escaped him. "But it's fine. I mean, we all make mistakes here and there. It's how we learn. But allow me to divert the topic a little bit... We already have terms, and conditions, and contingencies in place, no? But... What about if our area of mutual pact of defense is attacked?"
He would look back to the Goron a moment, and shot him a grin, before looking back to Yamashi.
"Let's discuss something I doubt has been touched on yet... Let's discuss.... Strategy. Strategy in the event of an attack. Planning between two leaders."
He let out a breath, brushing a bit of blonde hair from his face, keeping it from obstructing his vision.
"If there is an attack, Kakariko will no doubt be first, Death Mountain second, since the entrance to one is within the other. Let's work from there. I have experience with planning fortification, and defense placement... I can mediate to a degree, if you and Brother Solveig are in agreement."
Josh would smile lightly. "But of course... This is merely a suggestion. You two may conduct your business as you wish... But this is my recommended course of action in the matter to better make use of our time, and the effort that Miss Yamashi has taken, clearly, to scale the mountain."
Josh turned back to the Goron. "Is this potential course of action more suitable in your eyes, Brother-Chieftain Solveig?"
It was... Interesting. How the laid-back farmboy could become so formal all of a sudden. He spoke with a tone that one would use to deal with royalty on the constant. Or one that would be taken by a negotiator...
The question was... Just who was Josh DragonsFlame? Where did he come from? What had he seen, what had he done? Where had he gained the experience to know to speak in formality, to have the where-with-all to know to switch discussion to strategy? It was almost like a leader speaking, knowing what to do, strategize on the fly all the while...
But Josh knew he wasn't the leader here. Solveig was, and all he could do was use his knowledge, his experience, his area of expertise... To try and assist his Sworn Brother. In the grand scheme of things... Josh was powerless. But if his help was accepted, he could certainly be a valuable help.
