[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Ms. Naifeh’s years of study have allowed her to control her mind and live life with a cheery optimism. In general she seems a bit distant from the world, yet remains an empathetic and and somewhat snarky soul. When trouble strikes, it's treated more like an inconvenience than a problem. And it goes without saying, but nothing surprises her anymore. [break][break]Cantara is light-hearted, easily amused, hard to impress, and always living to support something ill-advised. Many consider her demeanor to be off-putting, accusing her of being sarcastic, derogatory, and arrogant. She had a history of staring argument and while neutrality is best, she’s known to occasionally speak out and forget her place. Burned bridges, however, stopped bothering her a while ago. [break][break]As a professional, Cantara’s work demeanor is vastly different from her casual demeanor. Her manner is openly welcoming, supportive, and hopeful. She prefers to keep a less serious environment. Her humanistic view makes her a more passive psychologist, listening and allowed the patient to take the reigns on their treatment. However, she can adapt as need be.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]APPEARANCE
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Cantara is a tall 5’ 7”, dark-skinned, and handsome as hell. While she’s decently androgynous, she usually presents as female with the occasional exception. Her hair is cropped short and styled to look nicely askew. Cantara usually put some thought into what she wears, favoring semi-formal attire. Obvious she dresses more professional for work and more casual for leisure. Her most typical outfit involves skinny jeans and leggings, sweaters and jackets, scarves, and jewelry that matches the ensemble. She also needs a pair of reading glasses.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Ms. Naifeh comes from a less pleasant household. While the situation was not as bad as it could have been, there are enough bad memories for her to keep her distance from her family. (she has found a comfortable compromise between isolation and involvement). This dysfunctional background gave her the basis of her interpersonal skills, not by redeeming or even understanding her family’s unhealthy way, but by avoiding and dealing with conflict for nearly 20 years. [break][break]Originally, Cantara was interested in pursuing a career in traditional physiology, something she’d been discouraged from doing. Sadly, she proved to lack the discipline or passion to be truly successful. By that point, however, her understanding of people’s character had grown, as she problem solving and maturity, so her interests shifted to alternative medicines. [break][break]Since then she had broadened her horizons and studied psychology. The lack of resources has encouraged her to conduct her own research and record her own findings. Counseling and therapy was a natural progression from there. Ms. Naifeh has been practicing in Castle Town for about a decade and knows just about every soul in town. She finds her work satisfying and feels pride for her accomplishment and learnedness, exciting to continue to gain knowledge for years to come.

NOTHING THIS CHARACTER SAYS, DOES, IMPLIES, OR PROMOTES SHOULD BE TAKEN AS CREDIBLE [break][break]She is not a psychologist by modern means and her writer is not a psychologist by any means at all. In fact, some of her ideas and thoughts are purposefully wrong to compensate for the setting, bias, lack of medication, and other concerns. Do not put any weight on anything she says, no matter how interesting or relatable it may seem. If, despite this, an idea is taken to heart, bring it to someone else’s attention, an actual educated psychologist is best, before you accept it as true. Online research and friends with experience with poor mental health is not a substitute for degree-holding professionals in the same way they’re not substitutes for physical doctors. She’s not a real psychologist. She should not to considered one and she does not represent the realities of therapy and counseling. She’s just a fictional doctor. Take her as seriously as you would take Batman or House or something. [break][break]I will not diagnose a character with anything beyond like general depression or anxiety (I’m far from able to even do that). If you have something in mind for your character; a disease, a condition, an unhealthy habit or perspective, I can totally work with that, but it’s really got to be a dialog. I don’t know what I’m doing. [break][break]NEW PATIENTS ARE ALWAYS ACCEPTED. [break][break]If that’s not your style, she also likes bar hopping, reading, and other casual settings.
