Catherine Okada isthe definition of a wet blanket a careful, firm, and reserved young woman, though her reservations should not be mistaken for coldness. She is a woman who values her companions and her friends even more, and would gladly fight and die alongside them. She has a strict but authoritative personality, which is best displayed in her firm, but not stiff, application of Hyrule Castle Town's laws. She admires grace, perfection, and all things beautiful, taking time during her off-hours to admire nature, flowers in particular. She resents cowardice in all forms, and rejects adamantly those who exhibit it. She strives for near-perfection in all of her work, and diligently takes to any task asked of her, no matter if it's a joke, or a mocking jest. She would gladly clean an entire war-camp on march or prepare a feast for the soldiers, if only to help her comrades and the people that she stands and fights for. She isn't afraid of much, but she is mortally terrified of love, and thus becomes quiet and nervously snappy around people she finds attractive or feels a strong, possibly romantic bond to. She's never explored her sexuality (due to her avoidance of romantic or sexual intimacy), but she's always found herself much more drawn to the ladies, their grace and beauty, rather than the fellas, who she finds suitable for camaraderie, nothing more.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
The House of Okada is a quiet clan, one that has long valued its reputation and its peace.
[break][break][break]
Catherine Okada was born in a foreign land far from Hyrule, a flat, cold land, filled with tense provinces bordering on the edge of conflict. Through the wary and comforting words of tacticians and advisers, war never broke out, though the air was taut and frightful, and those who lived on the edges of the provinces lived in constant fear of invasion and brigands.
[break][break]
The House of Okada lived in the capital city of one such province. The city was a cultural hub, and many of its inhabitants had never picked up a sword, and shields were used for cradles, or for dish covers. House Okada was a family of artists and musicians, creatives bordering on aristocracy. Despite this, each of their children were trained on how to fight and wield a blade, despite their otherwise peaceful existence. They were well respected for the peace that followed them (despite their swordsmanship, which was regarded as fencing and an art and thus excused as such), and Catherine’s father, Donovon Okada, was a pillar of communal caution and peace, and Catherine held him above all others in her eyes.[break][break]
As Catherine entered adolescence, the inevitable war that had been stirring on the borders of the lands was finally brought forth. A champion from the largest province overthrew the weak centralized government that was in place, and, staging a military coup, put himself in power. Valerio the Crusader, as he was called, began to rule his province with an iron fist, but he was not satisfied. He raised an army from the untapped war machine that lay in dormant in his province, and began a conquest to unite the rest of the nation. When he had a few provinces already under his heel, in the midst of his campaign and the height of his power, he turned his eye to the Okada's homeland.[break][break]
The city, which was already wracked with the duress of supporting refugees and other warring provinces, prepared for siege as Valerio's forces swept unopposed across the countryside. She looked to her father to take up arms and defend his homeland and his family, but her dreams were quickly shattered. Her father feigned illness and inability to fight, claiming he was too old and too frail to participate in the war. Catherine was heartbroken and hurt by her father's cowardice, and the revelation that the one man she thought to be perfect was little more than a traitor. Her opinion of him stooped lower and lower until it vanished when he forced them to steal away in the night, as the Crusader's forces broke through and flooded the city, stealing away her home and the honor of her House.[break][break]
After a year or two of travelling, the Okada's found themselves passing through Ordon. They settled in Hyrule Castle Town, taking up the roles of musicians, artists, and laborers, settling down with what money they had managed to carry from their old home. Catherine began performing as a street violinist to bring in money for her family, thanks to her aristocratic upbringing. Catherine grew to resent her father for his cowardice, and, through performing as a musician and taking odd jobs, she was able to move into a small flat in town.[break][break]
The events of the Starlight Festival brought new light to Catherine's eyes. The attack on the city by monsters, and the King's assassination reminded her painfully of the Crusader's conquest of her own land. Realizing that she could stand idle no more, she joined the Castle Town Guard, with the goals of becoming a Knight of Hyrule, preventing her new home from drawing any similarities to her old one, and redeeming herself for the shame her father had brought upon her.[break][break]
