[attr="class","section"]Yamato Ranfan (Taito)
Race: Saiyan
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Height: 6'0"
Homeworld: Earth, formerly Sadala
Voice Claim: Kaiji Tang
Abilities:
Ki Basics: Yamato is capable of various basic techniques using ki, such as sensing power levels, flight, ki blasts, etc.
Essence of Photokinetic Ki: This technique empowers Yamato's ki with the energy of light itself, turning his ki a bright white color. These ki attacks have increased power and create small flashes of light upon impact with any surface. Yamato appears to have a genetic trait giving him an innate connection and control over this type of ki, allowing him to convert it into numerous types of techniques with greater ease than other elemental ki. A boon of this connection is that any attempts to use light ki against Yamato, whether to damage or blind him, are weaker than normal.
Essence of Pyrokinetic Ki: This technique converts Yamato's ki into searing hot flames. Compared to Jocaron, his usage of this ability is far more limited, but he is still capable of crafting some unique abilities when called upon or simply throwing some small fireball versions of ki blasts.
Essence of Electrokinetic Ki: This technique converts Yamato's ki into electricity. While he has a greater connection to this type of ki thanks to his biological father, his control over it is still fairly limited compared to light ki. He can fire off lightning fast ki "bolts" at his opponents and it may well have other potential applications.
Hikaribakuhatsu (A.K.A. Photon Burst/Explosion. Literally "Light Explosion"): A large ball of light elemental ki is thrown into the air and then explodes into several ki blasts that home in on an enemy or multiple enemies.
Hikarihameha (A.K.A. Photon Blitz. Literally "Light Destruction Wave"): One of Yamato's finest technique creations, this is an extremely powerful technique using raw, concentrated light elemental ki that is channeled into two condensed orbs in each hand. These orbs are then combined and fired off in a massive, chaotic blast of light ki.
Taiyōpanchi ("Solar Punch"): A pretty simple technique. Yamato gathered a densely concentrated orb of light ki into his hand and slams it directly into the opponent, creating a massive ki explosion right in their vicinity. Due to the bright flash it creates, it can also impair the enemy's vision for a short time.
Solar Flare (Taiyoken): One of the simplest techniques utilizing light ki, the Solar Flare creates an incredibly bright, uncontrolled flash of light almost akin to staring at the sun that temporarily blinds anyone who looks directly at the technique. Closing one's eyes or having proper eye gear can lessen its effects. If positioned in proper proximity to the sun during the day when using the technique, the effects of the Solar Flare can be greatly amplified.
Denkibachi (A.K.A. Electric Judgment): A powerful technique created by the Saiyan warrior Lotuce, Yamato's biological father, and learned by his son through instructions left on Yamato's Saiyan Pod that sent him to Earth. Using the essence of electrokinesis, this technique creates a large surge of electrified ki that causes great damage and can even stun opponents.
Denkibaria (A.K.A. Electro Barrier): Using the essence of electrokinesis, this technique creates a spherical barrier of electrified ki around the user that electrocutes anyone who tries to attack the user and can stop other ki attacks from harming the user. It does have a limit before it "breaks" if enough force is used against it, though.
Ryughan - The signature technique of the Dragon School. A beam of concentrated ki charged by cupping one's hands before shooting it forward. Yamato is capable of utilizing the Essence of Pyrokinetic Ki to add a fiery element to it, but he usually opts to use his light ki instead, which he used as a basis to create the Hikarihameha.
Ryutama (A.K.A. Dragon Bullet): A unique technique Yamato created that is similar to the fire empowered Ryughan, but concentrated into a condensed sphere of fire ki rather than fired out into a blast and utilizing only one hand.
Chou Ryutama (A.K.A. Super Dragon Bullet): A vastly stronger version of the Ryutama, the sphere of flames becomes much larger and the flames so condensed and hot that the fire turns a bright blue color. It requires increased control over the fire ki and a longer charging time to utilize it.
Instant Transmission: The ability to lock onto energy signatures to teleport there instantly. Can also be used to warp to a specific location, but this is only possible if the user can accurately visualize it from memory. While short distances use little ki, the further away the target is, the more ki that is expended.
Transformations:
Kaioken: The ability to magnify one's attack power. It comes with intense strain, however, and it can destroy the body if used for too long. Kaioken can be multiplied for even further power, at the cost of even higher strain.
Great Ape: The original transformation of the Saiyan race, when a Saiyan who still has their tail looks at a full moon (or at an artificial moon created with ki), an unusual biological signal is triggered that causes the Saiyan to morph into the form of a giant ape monstrosity with power ten times that of their normal state. Normally, Saiyans completely lose control over themselves in this state and will rampage against friend and foe alike, but it is possible for a Saiyan to learn to control this state and maintain their mental facilities, making it far more dangerous. As Yamato still possesses his Saiyan tail, he has access to this transformation, but tends to avoid using it as he cannot control it.
Super Saiyan: The power of the Saiyan of legend. Acts as an extreme power multiplier that is achieved when a high enough level of power hits enough of an emotional high. This form relies on the emotional state continuing to be high, commonly utilizing high rage to be sustained. It also takes a great deal of ki to keep up. This disqualifies them from any “pure of heart” perks and makes controlling their ki more difficult. Mastery involves a long process of learning to control their emotional state, able to remain calm while using the form and in turn making the form use only minimal ki to maintain. Yamato has... Mostly mastered the Super Saiyan form.

[attr="class","section"]Appearance:
Yamato is a fairly tall, muscular man with pale skin, fiery red hair, and piercing, icy blue eyes. His curly hair is rather wild and spiky likely due to his Saiyan heritage and has remained in a similar state most of his life due to said heritage. When dressed more casually, Yamato tends to take on a somewhat punk, gothic sensibility with his fashion sense. Much of the time, however, Yamato wears his customized variant of the Ryu School Gi with a black headband and blue and black wristbands.
[attr="class","section"]Personality:
Yamato is a kindhearted young man who usually tries to be optimistic and helpful to others. In spite of the various troubles he has faced in his life thus far, he pushes onward and refuses to give up even as he starts to question his own capabilities. He is deceptively intelligent thanks to his high class upbringing under his adoptive father to a point where he can actually be a touch handy with various forms of technology, though he definitely isn't anywhere near his father's level in such regards... He also is skilled in some logistics regarding the running of the Capsule Corporation, which he has taken a greater role in helping out with as he entered adulthood and has mostly returned to a "simpler" life on Earth. That being said, Yamato cannot deny a sense of boredom that he has begun to feel, likely due to his Saiyan instincts desiring for him to have new and better fights. Perhaps he may soon want to be careful what he wishes for in such regards...
[attr="class","section"]Biography:
- Born with the Saiyan name Taito, he was born on Sadala as the only known son of the legendary Saiyan Warrior Lotuce, the right hand man and close friend of King Jorngon, and an unknown mother.
- Sent to Earth in an escape pod at a very young age when Chillzen attacked, was found and adopted by Dr. Hakumai Ranfan. His spacepod was damaged when it landed on Earth so much of his original heritage was left a mystery for most of his current life. Hakumai gave him the name Yamato as a result.
- Meets Jocaron after the two are suspended from school following a fight with other students. During this time, Yamato's innate Saiyan instinct for combat begins to take hold as he becomes a student under Jocaron's adoptive father Donshi. Yamato becomes fast friends with Jocaron and they end up searching for the Dragon Balls.
- Pick up more friends along the way, as well as making an enemy of Rail after defeating them in a duel while visiting a Namekian village. Eventually collect all seven. Dragon Balls are stolen by Rail, who uses the wish to gain more power. Rail is defeated and temporarily retreats for the time being.
- Mourns the loss of Master Donshi after he is unexpectedly killed by Rail. Is branded a fugitive after Rail's takeover of Earth, but eventually takes part in defeating him.
- Competes in his first World Martial Arts Tournament. Yamato ended up being the winner in the end. It was a pretty standard affair overall.
- Competes in his second World Martial Arts Tournament. Fights Jocaron in the finals and is barely defeated in the end. Congratulates Jocaron on his victory. Good times all around!
- Some time passes and he takes part in defending Earth from an invasion of Saiyan insurgents, led by Jocaron's brother Nikori who challenged his claim as the rightful Saiyan King. Battle was interrupted by Chillzen's forces, and the gang were forced to work with Nikori and the other Saiyans to survive.
- Fought Chillzen's forces across space until meeting the man himself on Sadala. Along the way, Yamato had a surge of anger that caused him to demonstrate the first signs of the Super Saiyan transformation that the Saiyans were capable of, but he was unable to fully achieve it in the battle against Chillzen himself.
- Chillzen was killed by Jocaron, who did manage to achieve the full Super Saiyan transformation. After a trip to Yardrat, the gang eventually made it back home to Earth.
- Left uncertain of his prowess in comparison to Jocaron and the others, Yamato has begun training almost excessively under high gravity and disappearing into the wilderness at various points to the slight concern of his adoptive father, who recently had successfully repaired his son's space pod and salvaged the once garbled information hidden away in it.
- During this time, Dr. Ranfan helped enroll Yamato into college to further his education in engineering and other relevant fields of his research to help him potentially become his successor as the head of the Capsule Corporation. While Yamato has been doing well in his studies so far, he remains uncertain of where exactly his future will lead him...
- In the leadup to the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament, Yamato began to meet various new friends, such as Serori, Sunasa, and the mysterious Android 55... Who he began to develop unexpected feelings towards.
- During the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament, Yamato had a strong showing, but found himself in an unexpectedly difficult fight with an enigmatic alien warrior named Z'er who seemed curious if Yamato was capable of using the Super Saiyan form that Jocaron had recently unleashed anew. The fight forced him to push himself to his limits in an attempt to end the fight quickly, revealing that he had figured out the Kaioken technique... Alas, his brutal assault proved insufficient enough to actually put Z'er down and using the Kaioken ended up brutalizing his own body more than expected. His various frustrations and worries that had been building up since the old gang's trip to Namek to defeat Chillzen finally spilled over and proved itself the necessary "fuel" for his anger. Yamato finally exploded with rage and became the second known Super Saiyan in recent memory... Albeit only for a brief moment as the stress and damage proved too much for him to handle before he passed out. Due to the fact that Z'er was still standing, Yamato had lost and was out of the tournament.
- Following the finals of the tournament which were won by 55, the enigmatic Dr. Croak of the Blue Bow Battalion finally revealed his hand and attacked the area with a massive army of androids. He attempted to force 55 into joining him via a sort of computer virus, but Yamato and Sunasa managed to get her to the safety of the Capsule Corporation so that she could utilize a contingency plan to remove it and let Sunasa make a few adjustments to her... During this moment, it was revealed that the seemingly human side of 55, who Yamato had taken to calling "Fifi", was the actual AI mind all along rather than the more stoic 55, who was the real human personality. During this time, in case things took a turn for the worse, Yamato and 55 finally affirmed their growing feelings for each other.
- With no time to really dwell upon everything, Yamato immediately teleported them all back to the fray with the Instant Transmission, where he proceeded to unleash the Super Saiyan form proper... And went on a ballistic rampage against the androids in an attempt to reach Dr. Croak due to losing control to all the negative feelings within him that were vastly amplified by the vengeful nature of the form. Alas, there were just too many to deal with and the gang were forced to retreat back to the Lookout, having a reunion with the Guardian of Earth Korn as a result.
- Tensions were very high amongst the group and a civilian they ended up saving who had some potential to aid them and motivation to do so as the android army sacked her home city, but all hope was not lost yet to save the Earth once more...
TO BE CONTINUED.
