[attr="class","header"]Frequently Asked Questions
Is this in the same universe as canon?
A: No, this is a completely alternate universe with different lore from canon. The canon cast does not exist.
What Age does this take place in?
A: Unstated, but time will pass as the RP progresses.
What is the style of this RP?
A: Currently, Josh is running the bulk of story arcs as a DM. The intention is to later transition to a format centered around player-created plots, but universal-scale plots written by Josh will still happen periodically.
Where can I see a timeline of events that have happened already?
A: You can find it in the Z-Encyclopedia, alongside other lore: lozlandoftwilight.proboards.com/board/78/encyclopedia
Where do character applications go?
A: They are to be posted here (https://lozlandoftwilight.proboards.com/board/77/fighter-applications) as their own threads. One thread should be posted per character, but related NPCs can be posted in the same thread.
How does power scaling work?
A: The player cast will always be around the same level, aside from fighting experience. The maximum allotted power will increase as the RP progresses.
How do Forms work?
A: Characters that can transform will be able to unlock new forms as the RP progresses, until tier-4 forms are reached. Ask to find out which form level is the current maximum. You do not have to start with previous forms already unlocked and may unlock them as part of your own plot, so long as it does not cross the current maximum. You may use the forms inherent to your character’s race, or use custom forms. You may use custom forms even if your character’s race does not have them. Please run the forms you intend to use by Josh. If your character does not transform, they may catch up through having their potential unlocked or via other means. Keep in mind that higher states of power require more ki to use, regardless of whether your character transforms or not.
Are there any restricted abilities?
A: Some abilities need to be learned in-RP through certain means, while others are restricted or cannot be used at all. A list will be made on the forum version of the FAQ, and updated as more restrictions are imposed.
RESTRICTED ABILITIES:
Instant Transmission - Can currently only be learned through spending a plot tenure in Yardrat, and the amount of characters who can learn it per visit are limited in order to space it out. This version of Instant Transmission can be used to send the user to a specific location so long as they can envision it. But it will not work if they cannot visualize it from memory. Using this technique also requires great skill in energy sensory to use.
Hakai - Can only be used by a God of Destruction. If a player is ever made apprentice to a GoD, their variant will not work on player characters or plot-protected NPCs.
Planet/Universe Busting - Not usable by player characters or NPCs without DM consent and given plot reason, regardless of power level.
Kaioken - Must be taught via coordinated plot with DM. Does not count as a form, but its use is short-term and cannot be used to overstep DM-instated power gating. Kaioken's strain intensifies with higher multipliers and if combined with transformations.
Kamehameha - Revamped into the Ryughan taught under the Dragon School in this setting.
Spirit Bomb - Learnable through plot.
Forced Spirit Fission - Unable to be learned by player characters. Cannot be used by NPCs without DM consent.
How does time pass?
A: Currently time passes as part of the ongoing story arc. When this arc concludes, years will instead pass gradually with the advancement of player-made and DM-made plots. As Dragon Ball has a tendency to advance large amounts of time, time will pass more quickly in DBW.
Can I app a Kai? What about the Supreme Kai and God of Destruction?
A: While the Kai are not suitable for frontline combat as someone’s main character, support characters may be added if they fit a specific role. Supreme Kai are unplayable, while the God of Destruction may not be apped as the position is filled in-lore. The same goes for the Omni King.
With new lore coming out of Daima, how will this be handled?
A: The role of this new lore in DBW will be sorted out in time, as Dragon Ball Daima unfolds.
Can I post my own lore in Z-Encyclopedia?
A: Yes, with review.
Where can I post information on plots I want to do?
A: Make a thread in the dragon-ball-warriors channel on the Discord.
