Since time immemorial, we Great Fairies have lived and served the heroes of the ages, taking different forms and building fountains where our power may dwell.
I, Hadassah, am known as the Orchid of the Desert, and am blessed greatly by the Goddess Farore. I have brought relief and relaxation to those who traffic in the harsh desert sands of the Gerudo, a boon to those who have wandered far and wide...
But now... I found myself in a rather... awkward and desperate situation.
Of course, I must explain myself a bit. As I have mentioned, I am a Great Fairy who presides in the sunlit caves near to the peaceful town of Solstead.
Naturally, in having moved to a discoverable place, many have come about to take water from the spring, beg and even demand that I help them. Alas! I came for shelter, but as one who has the power to grant blessings and enchantments, I found myself in a similar predicament to when I lived deep in the harshest territories of the desert...
Far to the south, past great spires of stone, there lived a great and mighty nation, from whose bowels was rumored that the Demon Thief Ganondorf was spawned (though in this time, none can confirm such a rumor). Many of those birthed there are hardened, bristling Gerudo, who treasure their physical strength and honor above all else. Yet, the stories of wise women speak of Ganondorf as a hero who stole for the sake of the children, and in so doing, created a generation of thieves inspired by him...
I had once helped one of their denizens in his exile, a man by the named of Armetheo Barrasshu, a soldier of the tribe. He was different. Thoughtful, kind-hearted, and so selfless as to lay waste to armies of monsters on his own, all to prevent the destruction of one small, exceedingly rare and precious farming town on the outskirts of his town.
In his plight, I aided him, taught him the ways of Farore, and essentially created a disciple of the Goddess of Life out of him. He was zealously devoted, a blessed man, a far cry from the Demon Thief himself.
In time, I bid that he return to civilization to show through his example the ways of Farore, and bestowed upon him a heroic title: The Roar of the Winds, for he was a truly ferocious man in the subjugation of ill-thinking monsters.
After he was gone for a year, I enjoyed my solitude... until, that is, was when they came. A man, the spitting image of the Demon Thief, with a retinue of loyal followers, came to my oasis and demanded a blessing, quite literally proclaiming himself with pride that he was the incarnate of the Demon King.
He had the powers of shadows, yes, but not in the form I recognized of the demon himself. He was no Demon Thief--he was a fraud and imposter, and as much I wished to humiliate him before his assembly, I am bidden to speak in riddles. Unfortunate that such meat-headed fools can't tell truth from the lie if they believed a scam with all of their heart.
I would not answer any of their summons. Not even for Rupees, for who knows if these fools had stolen them from other travelers? Yet, they persisted, leaving junk they considered treasures in an effort to appease me! Foolishness! It was all vain and foolish!
Despite this, I still had pleasant visits from my old friend, Armetheo. I wouldn't dare involve him with his own people again, not after they had forced him to exile.
One time, much to my surprise, he brought the precious daughter of Solstead, Klara, and my own sister, Herodia, to visit me. My sister had relinquished her powers in favor of exploring the word. When at first I heard it, I thought her to be rather selfish and forthcoming with her decision-making, but then I heard of the marvelous adventures she shared in her time outside of her oasis... goodness, I felt a pinch of envy for her favorable lifestyle.
Klara and Theo would promise me a safe haven in Solstead, a place where I would be guarded, and kept safe from any intrusions. Of course, I agreed, having found a compromise with being able to move and enjoy a few of the bounties of this world. Quite so, it was a good choice for awhile, and the townsfolk were amiable... if a little demanding...
Two years passed since the wedding and eventual coronation of the new Hylian queen and her king consort, and my living conditions were, as expected, growing steadily worse. No good thing lasts forever, as my oasis has been rediscovered once more by the same irritatingly smarmy Gerudo who lived in the far desert. This was right after I had rejected Armetheo's feelings for me... and as though I was divinely wrong with my decision, my previous problem reappeared.
Sigh... and now my mind returns to the past words of my dear sister, Herodia... and how she enjoys her traveling...
... Wait... perhaps... I can do that, too?
played by FISH, Hadassah is an ORIGINAL CHARACTER.
