Name: Hachiko Takaboshi
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5ft 0in
Hometown: Tokyo, Japan
Appearance: Most notably, Hachiko has no hair. It has been completely replaced with tentacles on her head. She keeps most of them pulled back, as she's never dreamed of attempting to get a 'haircut.' She does have subtle control over these tentacles, moving or flopping as she wishes, but ultimately she never bothers. And while their color can change drastically, their default state is a soft dark blue.
Beyond that, she has very obvious red irises that almost seem to glow under bright lights. Her pupils are completely inhuman, resembling those of an octopus. All this paired with very sharp teeth and oddly long and flexible fingers, her mutant-style quirk is fairly obvious.
With a very dedicated punk aesthetic, Hachiko never quite left that aspect of her teenage rebellion phase behind. With many different piercings in her ears, she tends to accessorize strongly with her multiple earrings, even when she is otherwise forced to dress up. Alas, they must come out during practice and training work, but it's not uncommon to find her wearing pretty much anything. Shark teeth, shells, spikes, hoops, loops, and everything else one can think of. She'd absolutely have tattoos all over her body if she wasn't worried they would disrupt her mimicry.
Personality: Hachiko on the surface is a cocky, confident individual who knows her worth, and never accepts anything less. However, despite her outward acts, she has struggled with self-confidence for quite some time. She used to think she was the absolute best and got hit with a face full of reality and has been trying to pick herself back up ever since.
Beyond her desperation to become a hero, Hachiko has so many hobbies that she struggles to make time for all of them. Although, she does prioritize a few higher than others. She adores painting, yoga, and even playing video games and trash-talking people online. However, her rooms are always filled with half-started projects. From plastic mecha figures halfway assembled to discarded piles of Lego, and even random metal and plastic scraps with electronics for her own little battlebots. She struggles to finish what she's started, constantly jumping from one project to the next. Even finishing a painting is often a struggle.
Hachiko is a pretty upbeat individual, always trying her best to pick others up and drag them into her shenanigans, which are wild and plentiful. Very extroverted, when left to herself she tends to go stir crazy until she finds someone to spend time with. She'll often be found laying her back completely bent in half over a couch in the common areas, hoping someone will pass by with something to do.
History: Hachiko grew up all her life knowing she was destined for greatness, but she had never truly applied herself. Her father was a well-known hero and her older sibling had already made their way into U.A. as a hero student. She was sure with her more powerful quirk than the rest of her family that she would be a shoo-in.
She was not. In fact, she flopped hard. Hachiko had never worked for anything before. Decently smart, fit, and fairly wealthy. She never knew what it meant to struggle. And so when she failed, the one thing that she had presumed would be her entire life, she crumbled under the pressure of her own expectations.
U.A. did accept her, but only as a General Education student. She had no chance for anything special, no chance to ever grow or properly train herself in combat. Just a yearly attempt at the Sports Festival that she always failed every year due to the lack of training and always felt like the world laughed at her.
She grew mad at the world, angsty and rebellious. She had the whole classic teenage phase with bad influences and terrible social life, getting into trouble and doing things she would have absolutely gotten kicked out of school if she had ever been found out. Very obviously going down a dark path and yet she seemed completely apathetic to it.
It wasn't until a teacher from the Hero Classes actually made time for her and talked with her that anything actually changed. Graduating in a Hero Class during high school was not the only path to becoming a Hero. It was simply the easiest. Her dreams were not beyond her reach, she just needed to keep trying. An opportunity would open itself up for her eventually if she worked hard enough. Many countries didn't even really begin true Hero training until they went to University.
And sure enough, she took that talk to heart with a new goal in mind. She slowly changed her life around, picking herself back up and ripping herself away from the terrible influences with some help from friends and family. She began to work out, practice her quirk in the gym after hours long into the night, and study harder than she ever had before. It wasn't enough to totally fix her grades, but it was enough that she was able to graduate.
From there, she began to research every single University across the globe that she could attempt to apply for. MKA stood out to her as an obvious University that would know the benefits of the more aquatic applications for her quirk.
Applying was the easy part, the Entrance Exam was the hardest part. Her nerves were so on edge, desperate to prove herself all over again. She could not fail again. She refused. To get into MKA would be a dream!
In the end, she just barely managed to squeak in. Despite her terrible grades and the writing portion of the exams, someone must have seen her potential. She couldn't even care that she got only into 1-B, at the very least she was in. Her dream could finally, truly, begin. And she was never looking back, only forwards.
The future had never looked so bright, or maybe that was just the sun in Florida.
Quirk Name: Cephaloform
Quirk Type: Mutant
Quirk Description: Cephaloform grants Hachiko the physiology resembling cephalopods, primarily Octopi. She has no hair on her body, only the large and short tentacles atop her head.
Granted many abilities that Octopi natively has, ranging from classic mimicry and camouflage, able to blend into terrain with the incredible shifting of her skin's texture and shape and changing the colors of her body nearly at will, to the ability to spray a dark, sticky ink. Even her limbs are able to sprout suction cups, sticking to surfaces and gripping with remarkable ease.
Although perhaps most notable on a day-to-day basis is her insane flexibility and agility. Her body twists and turns in ways as if her bones aren't completely solid. Even her skull is able to squish, able to squish and climb through incredibly small holes without issue.
However, she does have some fairly obvious flaws. Her ink spray outside of water has a pretty limited range, even if it is super sticky. Changing her body's texture or color too quickly can make her feel quite dizzy and nauseous. Not to mention, if her skin is too dry she ends up feeling itchy and scratchy all over and limits her flexibility quite intensely.
