[attr="class","header"]A New Beginning
The skies grew dark as Ganondorf and his armies stormed Hyrule Field, charging for Hyrule City. Hyrule's people made their final stand against Ganondorf there. During the battle, the Triforce would make itself known. But while Ganondorf was seemingly defeated due to his obsessed pursuit of the Triforce, the unthinkable happened when the Triforce itself was caught in the crossfire. Turning an unholy color, the Triforce's powers began to go out of control and nearly destroy Hyrule in the process.
Fortunately, those who had gathered would devise a plan to offer their healing magic and prayers to ease the Triforce's pain. Though it took a great deal of effort, Hyrule's heroes would succeed, and the Triforce would heal their weary bodies in turn. With good timing, as the Triforce's rampant power that had flooded into the depths below during its rampage, would bring Ganondorf back to the surface. This time transformed into a terrifying beast imbued with the Triforce's power -- Ganon.
Together, with the power of the Triforce and Sages from the past at their back, the heroes would manage to narrowly defeat Ganon. As Ganon fell through the ground and into the Depths far below, the Triforce would grant the deepest desires of those present. With Ritua's wish, nature would overflow around the field and for miles around, bringing life back to a Hyrule that had been ravaged by war. With that, the Triforce would be broken back into Crests and be scattered to the winds once more.
For a time, Hyrule was finally at peace.
[attr="class","header"]First, a Thank You
On behalf of LoT's Staff Team, I wanted to give a huge thank-you to everyone who has stuck it out with us, whether you've been here with us for years and years, or are just recently joining us. With the end of the POT event, the Cycle Of Twilight arc has officially come to an end. This story started in August 2016, and now in 2023 we have finally seen it through to its conclusion.
With that in mind, big things are on the horizon! Starting with... Our long-awaited timeskip.
[attr="class","header"]Spring, Year 06
It is now Spring of the Year 06. Over two years have passed since Ganon’s defeat and the end of the Shadow War. Ordon and Kakariko have been successfully rebuilt under the direction of the new Queen and King. Their defenses have been strengthened, though there is hope there will never again be a need to use them.
Monster activity has quieted down since shortly after Ganon’s defeat, with only occasional skirmishes being reported. Homes and businesses have been rebuilt, and ever so slowly, wounds and hearts begin to heal.
Now in the third year of their reign, the King and Queen have announced plans for a festival known as the Unity Gala. A celebration of the union between the gods and mortals, whom all came together to defeat Ganon and bring peace to Hyrule. Much has changed in Hyrule since then, but Hyrule's people will never forget that day.
But on the battlefield where Ganon was slain, a strange haze has slowly begun to rise from within the crater where the Demon King fell. The crater is far too deep for anyone to see into, and may very well lead into Hyrule's innermost Depths...

Yes folks, we are now in Year 06! It has been two years, plus two additional seasons since Ganon's defeat in Fall Year 03. Don't forget to update the ages of your characters accordingly, as they may have aged by two to three years in that time period. Spring kicks off the start of a new year, and we can't wait to show you what comes next!
The Unity Gala event will be coming to you guys within the coming weeks. Staff is making sure that the next arc will be even more ambitious than the first, so it may be a little while before we return to combat-based events. But with how many we've had in a row recently leading up to the finale, we hope that you will all enjoy the break, and the peace that your characters have earned!
But we're not done with the announcements just yet!
[attr="class","header"]The Hyrule Chronicle
Previously a staff-written feature for posting articles that would benefit player stories and keep people in the loop. Staff has agreed that the next evolution of the feature should come in the form of allowing players to write their own articles on their own time instead of waiting for us to cobble it all together.
This will be done on the Discord, using the new #hyrule-chronicle tab that is located under Roleplay. Just grab the template in that section, hit New Post and get writing! However, please keep these rules in mind.
- The Hyrule Chronicle is a public news outlet that details the going-ons throughout Hyrule. It is an easy way for Hyrule's citizens to keep in touch with current events! And there is none better at publishing that news than Rita Ceres, who with almost superhuman capabilities appears to be able to sniff out a scoop everywhere she goes, able to always be at the right place at the right time, even in the most dangerous of places to pen a firsthand scoop. If she can't obtain it by sight, then she is quite skilled at interrogating an eyewitness who can. No secret is safe when Hyrule's Super Snoop is on the scene!
- But for the player base, this is another tool for telling your stories. Whether for the purposes of increasing the fame of your character for their heroic deeds, or publishing something scandalous to add a bit of spice to your story, the Hyrule Chronicle is the best way to get it all out there! Upon the completion of a thread that you think may be newsworthy, you are free to post an article detailing its events.
- Make sure to note the involved thread, the characters involved and the season and year this thread takes place. If you are having trouble figuring out when it takes place, check the timeline on the site.
- All entries are publicly known IC. The Hyrule Chronicle is a public newspaper, so only put out what you want to be known!
- Content on some entries may go against site lore, that of another player, or just be inappropriate for LoT as a whole. For cases like these, the Staff team has the right to ask you to change the entry, or remove it entirely.
- New entries must go through Staff approval. Let us know in #staff-help that you have posted an entry, so that it may be reviewed. Staff will tag it with Approved if everything is a go. Keep in mind that Approval can be revoked at anytime if staff later finds something that goes against anything listed above.
[attr="class","header"]New Spells
Staff will be adding new spells to the spell list over time based off player feedback. The first in the line of new spells comes courtesy of our friendly forest Magnere!
Name: Form Snowball
Magic Type: Nayru
Spell Type: Projectile
Tier: Initiate
Description: The user pulls water from the air and freezes it into a palm-size snowball, or manipulates existing snow into one. This snowball can be continually grown in size over time with additional energy until the user can either no longer carry it or it reaches their height in diameter, whichever comes first.
[attr="class","header"]New Quests
Three new quests have been added to the Adventurer's Bulletin thanks to player feedback!
You can now hunt for and befriend the Syger (courtesy of RaikouRider!), Rope and Moosh creatures in their respective quests!
Once again, thank you guys so much for being here with us. We can't wait to see what comes next!
