Heavy boots crunched across the ground in eerie silence. It was to be expected of one who's gotten good at the craft. A faint growling echoed through the air as a hand grasped a stomach. The figure gritted his teeth. He's stowed away, wandered around, did whatever he felt like doing... It hasn't been very fruitful recently. Damn does it take time to get to some society again... When was the last time he had even a modicum of a legitimate meal? Scrounging for scraps of edible plants only went so far and while he could hunt things, prepping and cooking food was pretty damn hard without any formal setup. A single blue eye looked upon the horizon of the vast 'Hyrule Field'. He was closing back in on the City after an expedition back into the home turf to try and explore some ruined temple he got a lead on... And there was nothing. Place seemed pretty cleaned out already. He wasn't proud of what he was going to be doing. He tried to do this shit less often given that Hyrule was literally falling into fucking hell itself, but he needed to get some rupees and/or eat. A lot of the hired work always seemed to involve fighting monsters and Marul wasn't exactly the ideal hire for such jobs. He had a mean scowl and was deceptively quick mentally and on his feet, but he just... Wasn't a merc type. The big coat and other somewhat looser, ill fitted clothes he wore belied a body that has seen much better days. Maybe he could get a few monsters good, but why hire him when they could get people they know will get the job done? Might not drop dead fighting the mean fuckers off? People with records and histories and not... Him.
He would live, though. He's gotten this far after all. He needed to at least survive long enough to finally give that old bastard a piece of his mind... If he could ever even find him...
Some more time had passed and Marul found himself leaning back on a branch in one of the many trees that littered the field. This one was nearby one of the main pathways that went into the city. He needed to catch his breath and also needed to hide from the fucking monsters or people who'd see HIM as the easy pickings instead... Even though Marul didn't really have many genuine valuables besides his necklace... And nobody was touching that unless they wanted to lose something 'special'. If he actually saw someone appealing, Marul had a plan in mind already. He was feeling old school given that he recently 'harvested' some Deku Nuts from those psychotic plants. In and out. Simple and nobody is threatened or hurt.
"I'll be fine for a little while soon... Maybe I'll see if any of those little shits are still around in the City. Give em a little something too... Hm?" Marul started faintly hearing something. Marul would then peak out from the leaves and he believed he actually saw something intriguing... Or rather someone. "... Less my eye deceives me, I think my luck is turnin' around."
