Height: 5' 0" (153 cm) / 0' 8" (20 cm)
One of the longest lived Kokiri & fairy duo still around; few from his generation remain.
With both the hero and the Sage of the Forest leaving the woods to fulfill their destinies, it was a generation that had been tempted by a lethal curiosity for the world outside of the Forest.
With the Great Deku Tree dead and its sappling little more than a tiny flower unable to offer them any wisdom, he and many others set out into the unknown with hopes of grandness.
But Kokiri were not meant to leave the woods. The Sacred Grove was pure. Pristine. Not a single drop of true spite, of true evil existed within it or its inhabitants. The innocence of children could remain eternal because no outside influence could corrupt it.
The world beyond the forest- the world of men, was no such paradise. Already drowning on shades of grey on a good time, with times as chaotic as Ganondorf had left them, it was a world the kokiri explorers were ill-equipped to handle.
But- your mileage may vary, and no two people can claim to have perfectly walked a mile on each other's shoes. The Kokiri experienced many different things then. Some good, most bad.
Some lethal. Those who did not return within 10 years never did. The remaining Kokiri would never know if they had simply chosen to remain on the outside... or if they had died.
Those who returned brought back with them not just trauma- but knowledge, experience and talent as well.
It could be said they moved thee Kokiri Tribe forward on the tech tree. As for diplomatic ties, however...
As for Fado and Bea, their experiences outside taught them that the Gorons were stalwart and trustworthy allies. And so, the mystical portal leading between their homes at the lost woods was well preserved over the years.
It taught them that the Zora were graceful and creative, capable of bringing to the world magnificent creations for one to marvel. And so, the mystical well that connected their homes was also well preserved throughout the years.
And as for Hylians...
Kind. Cruel. Generous. Greedy. Protective. Destructive. Wholesome. Debouched. Honest. Hypocritical.
Superb Actors and liars.
The Hylians were numerous. Much more so than any other species. Some were farmers, other thieves. Some were teachers, other scammers. Some were protectors, others were bandits.
But no matter what, many would become entirely different people, if they thought you were somehow of use to them.
And so, the bridge leading outside of Kokiri Forest to Hyrule Field... was cut down. And the many paths connecting the world of men and Kokiri were slowly buried and left to disappear over the years.
And then one day...
A hole opened above the sacred grove.
[attr="class","section"]the character
Fado is considered one of the 'elders' of the Kokiri Tribe. He and his peers raised many of the kokiri today, so his word and input have much weight...... whenever they are choosing the game of the day.
Ultimately, a Kokiri remains a Kokiri no matter how long they live if they rarely leave the company of their fellow eternal children. And when surrounded by his fellow Kokiri, little distinguishes him from his peers.
It is when alone with his thoughts, or when speaking with the Great Deku Tree and the other 'Elders' that he becomes something else. A creature that looks as a child, but does not quite fit in his own skin.
The experiences with the outside world has tainted them- awakened them to the shades of grey, made them aware of the evils of man. Though they tried to go back to their lives as simple Kokiri, they were permanently scarred. Some, quite literally.
These Kokiri all had their own personal experiences and developed their own personal biases; for Fado, they are simple. Goron and Zora, good.
Hylians... Dangerous.
Whether considered a good or a bad man, it is best for a Hylian to become a Stalfos, eternally wandering the Lost Woods, than for them to be allowed in the Kokiri Forest.
For her part, Bea is Fado's remarkably long lived guardian and caretaker. She could be considered both his best friend and sister-figure. She is talkative and knowledgeable, though she tends to fall silent around non-kokiri folk. Smart-mouthed and sassy, she might well be the reason Fado ended up becoming such a rambunctious Kokiri, before he set out for Hyrule.
Much like a certain other famous fairy, Bea is a fountain of knowledge and trivia, and just as eager to let it be known. She'll answer any question Fado has- even if he doesn't ask it.
