CASTLE TOWN PLAZA
YEAR 03, MIDDLE SPRING
MORNING, CLEAR
YEAR 03, MIDDLE SPRING
MORNING, CLEAR
It happened. Finally.
The wound that had festered ever since winter, was now opening again. Twilight Curtain: the abomination that they themselves had unleashed and which they had tried in vain to contain, once again showed its true power. Relentless armies of twisted monstrosities and other dark beings finally overran the perimeter that had been set around Gerudo Desert. And while the soldiers and knights hurriedly escaped the first ring of fortifications and retreated towards the second ring of defenses, the twilight rampaged, running unchecked over huge swaths of land. With great difficulties the forces of Hyrule managed to check its advance once more. But by then, the damage was obvious.
Most of Ordon Province and the Snowpeak Range now resided within Twilight Curtain, cruelly snatched away from the light of Mother Hyrule and into the endless darkness of the Twilight Realm. Their unfortunate residents, most who had not escaped in time or was too frail to do so, had been trapped inside. Rumor had it that they had taken form similar to the otherworldly invaders. Even Ordon Village had started to feel the cold reality as monsters attacks increased seemingly day by day.
Amidst it all, the newly crowned Queen of Hyrule had been restless. After her strange isolation since the appearance of Twilight Curtain and Starlight Festival, Queen Marianne had been highly visible, seemingly trying to tackle every problem everywhere she could; the sight of her red cloak billowing over her horse as she rode with her entourage always promising help and security to every citizen who encountered them.
Hyrule still stood, and both her ruler and her people stood together in this trying times.
The Circle Defense System, the brainchild of The Queen, Chief Darunlazt, and Princess Rularu had been highly successful to stem the first wave of Twilight and now the second wave, but it would not last forever. The Queen had ordered the fortifications of all major settlements and to strengthen the outposts of major trade routes, especially those connecting to Zora Domain and Goron City. She had visited them herself, including one instance in Goron City when it was said that Twili Assassins almost got her. To the front lines she made periodic visits, examining the troops personally and to know what they needed firsthand. The moment the Twili forces broke through -the next day she was already at the fort near Ordon, conferring with her Generals on how best to stem the onslaught.
And as it was made painfully obvious that Hyrule military at its current strength would not suffice, calls had been made to re-institute forced draft for the citizens of Hyrule to serve in the military. Such notions, however, had been vetoed by The Queen during all of Council Meetings, arguing that she would not force her people to sacrifice their lives if they did not want to, and that economy should not be neglected in favor of total war.
But even she could not deny that Hyrule needed help. Badly. And so, for the first time in a long time, she called for an official expedition augmented by volunteers, to work in tandem with the military. These people would be sent to Ordon Province and Snowpeak Range in small teams, and to report back their findings so that further effort could be more efficiently coordinated. The most important, however, was that these people would be doing so on their own volition.
Of course, her idea did not escape the jeer and sheer disbelief of some higher ups, especially those who wished to institute forced draft. No one would be so foolish as to willingly plunge themselves into danger, they said. No one would do such a thing. But The Queen was adamant. She believed in her people and their willingness to do what was necessary. Time would tell whether her belief was warranted.
Would there really be… enough people willing to help Hyrule?
The announcer cleared his throat.
“Her Majesty, The Queen!”
NB: Military members character can be in the plaza as part of the military, rather than volunteers.

And so, in this fine morning in the middle of the spring, she had gathered all who was willing to go into Twilight Curtain in Castle Town Plaza, to be given general direction and to create a group of like-minded individuals. As she stepped onto the platform and faced the crowd, however, she gazed nervously at the people who had gathered, a mix of military and volunteers.Would there really be… enough people willing to help Hyrule?

- Post with your character being in the Castle Town Plaza if they are interested in joining as volunteers! You can have as many characters as you like to join!
- If there are enough characters interested, you will be divided into teams of two or three. Then Marianne will give a general direction and then off you go on your own threads! This thread is just to gather everyone at the beginning.
- This is mainly for characters who may not have much reasons to travel together, so they can mix up and have adventure with each other. Have fun, Lightbringers!
