Bio: Little is known about the background of the pirate Hendrik. Seemingly named after the great Knight of Helidor that fought alongside the Luminary a century past, Hendrik was saved from being robbed and killed by a group of pirates by... Yet another group of pirates. These pirates were led by Captain Slimebeard, nicknamed after his beard that resembles the body of a slime (Nobody knows his real name, apparently). Owing the man his life, the teenage Hendrik swore fealty to the good Captain and became part of his crew. Despite his occupation, Hendrik handles his affairs with grace and honor, and won't kill a helpless opponent unless given reason. His demeanor sets him apart from the other pirates, though when asked why he continues to hang around with a rough group such as they, he simply cites a debt he feels he must pay. Some think he may have an agenda of his own, though he has yet to speak of it.
In the four years since Hendrik came into the Captain's service, despite his demeanor he has grown close with the Captain, with the Captain considering Hendrik like his own son. It was no surprise to anyone that he was eventually chosen as the Captain's second in command. He serves dutifully, and without hesitation.
Perhaps it is due to this loyalty that the Captain did not hesitate in turn when Hendrik asked for a favor of his own. On an island, they had come across a wounded Sabrecub that Hendrik felt an attachment to. Asking to take it aboard and nurse it back to health, his request was obliged and the Sabrecub, later nicknamed "Tom", became the cabin pet of the crew. Tom appears to favor Hendrik in particular, and isn't far behind wherever he goes.
