Appearance
Standing at eight feet and three inches, Malik is a large Gerudo male with gigantism, weighing in at four-hundred-forty pounds. Malik is built and muscular from all of his training, exercise and life style. He always ate much more than his much shorter family, and has an appetite to match his height.
With white stripe tattoos along the right side of his face is a white colored eye. A mess of an accident that stems from a fight, causing trauma to rush the glaucoma to overtake that eye, but the glaucoma not being what took his vision. He does though, have a white eye due to this, though it was formerly brown. His other eye is an almost teal-like blue and has perfect vision, ironically.
His clothing options are actually few and far between, it is very difficult to find clothes when you are as big as you are. Alot of times, he'll just be barefoot, shirtless and just in his basic pair of pants.
He is almost always barefoot, and the rare times something is seen on his feet, they're usually gladiator style shoes, open toe and heeled. His typical pants are large, black pants with a blue dragon stained into them, heavy blue metal cuffs hold them down around his ankles and overtop the upper part of his 'shoes' should he be wearing any. His chest armor lays over durable and breathable cloth. Wrapped around his waist you can find his jacket.
He has another outfit, that coats him with more pieces of armor, intricate designs carved into a very sturdy metal. Very little cloth can be found on this outfit save for the cloth tied around his waist. The armor itself is designed to appear as if it's ablaze, an optical illusion easily crafted by yours truly. While he does not embrace the typical evil of his school of magic, he does have a very rooted concept on creating illusions.
He does fight with his hands and feet, magic optional and if you hand him a weapon he will be... far from efficient. He has gloves and gauntlets that he wears, making his already large hands appear thicker, and on his upper arm are his vambraces. Another weapon he uses are giant metal gauntlets that engulf his arms all the way to the halfway point. These are used on heavier targets or when he can't wear his vambraces and gauntlets, such as in cold weather with heavy clothes on.
Personality
Malik is an actual gentle giant. But even sweet animals lash out when deemed necessary. Starting off though, he's very quiet, so much so that many people think he can't speak. Which is half true! Malik has selective mutism, making him incapable of speaking in many social situations. Even when he's alone with people he's comfortable with, he's still quiet cause that's just how he is, but he does have an anxiety about actually talking, so bad that he does not speak at all. Not many people are... sure how he got like this, but he has been since he was a child. Most people who know him well enough can read his face and body language to know what he wants to "say".
Mal isn't rude, unless it's through joking with people he's close with, then he can occasionally come out of his silence and deliver a clapback to someone if they hear him. He's a very calm and composed fighter who meditates frequently, keeps his magic on tight practice, though not enough to classify him as a mage, and trains when he can. So if you're looking to rile him up, then you're going to have a very bad time trying that.
Unless you're rude as shit to others. Mal has been known to slug someone for bullying another that wasn't their own size, or wrongfully harassing an individual. He doesn't need to be crazy to step his composed self between two people and knock the hell out of the bad one. He's taught the non-fighters of his family how to defend themselves and will continue to do so. Some may call him boorish for walking up and punching a bastard in the face but call it what you want, as long as he gets the point home to the guy he hit.
Malik doesn't feed into the evil that many other Demise users feed into. Rather, he taps into the rest of it, illusions, moving with shadows, flowing like the darkness that finds it's ways. He's flexible, physically, like the shadows. But there is a darker part to Mal. Where he learned a controlled form of fighting from watching others and picking up a mix of martial arts, he also learned how to strike from varying animals. Malik has a silent rage he can tap into that helps fuel him in not only magic but in combat. Some who have seen his more wild fighting style do tend to equate him to an animal that doesn't roar. A pissed off tiger stalking silently among reeds or a Leopard among the trees.
His rage is kept well under wraps though, and it's difficult for people who don't know him to tell when he's actually starting to get angry until it's too late and starting to show on his face. It's also very difficult to pull this rage out, and he does actually bottle it up to help fuel his magic when rage is required, or to help him carry on in a fight when he's injured.
To wrap it up, calm, composed and silent, Malik stands up for injustices and sells his strength to others around Hyrule who need it. But beware of that anger.
History
Mal grew up among the larger of settlements in the Gerudo Desert, his family scraping by on what they can, impoverished but not at all lacking skills. They all shared the same household, so Mal grew up among the chaotic, talkative mess that was his entire family. Cousins, brothers, sisters, and what not.
Whenever he was six, he was already very quiet, but surprisingly good at wrecking the other smaller kids and taking hits, this eventually grew into him sticking to it and becoming a better fighter. By eight years old he was learning more technical fighting techniques, watching official fighters and street fighters go at it, then taking that home to practice with a close cousin of his.
When he turned twelve, he decided to take up street fighting as his way of helping his impoverished family. No one knew what to expect out of the mute kid but they didn't expect him to be strikingly good at fighting. He had few losses against the other younger fighters, and even took on a few of the older fighters just cause.
When he was sixteen though, he earned his first big loss, a Din enhanced cheapshot to the head put him out for what would add up to a year. A lot of the major recovery, he doesn't remember, but they informed him of what was left out. One of the few times he spoke up was crying for his mother and she essentially never left his side while they fought to keep him going with magic and poultices from hand gathered herbs they could find. Small amounts of Devil's Claw was used to help manage the head pain he dealt with.
It took him around three months to adapt to the new depth perception from the loss of vision, and once that was recovered, Mal took a breath and went back to slowly retraining his body over the duration of nine months. But since the family was poor and Devil's Claw is hard to come by, Mal took up meditating to help focus his mind and body, as well as help keep his stress down and manage any anger to help stop stress from triggering his migraines.
While using his anger in certain aspects of combat and magic, it does end up giving him migraines.
When he was in his early twenties, Mal accidently delivered too hard of a blow to his cousin's jaw, breaking his neck and swiftly killing him in the process. While he never meant to kill, the guards would gladly take this opportunity to purge an illegal street fighter. Those that knew him knew that he would never kill like that, but it didn't matter. They refused to lighten his sentence and he was placed on Death Row, waiting for his death to come in prison.
Against all odds, it felt, another Gerudo spoke to him, and together, they broke out and left the desert. Mal carried on to sell his strength to help others as well as stay afloat, silent in his job but dedicated.
Miscellaneous Information
He is totally blind in his right eye, it's completely black if he closes just his left. His left eye still has 20 vision.
He's a total momma's boy, even if the sandal is to be feared...
Mal absolutely LOVES fruit. Watermelon, strawberry and coconuts specifically are his favorites.
He's a hella good cook!
He still deals with migraines and those may never go away.
