I've seen a lot in this lifetime of mine
How different Castle Town seemed now... The same chore, the same purpose, and yet, it all felt so different... Josh was still the same farmboy, walking through town to buy supplies to take back to his family in Ordon. The girls still giggled at him as he passed by, but now others stared at him... Others who had seen him fight. Others who had heard him scream. Who had watched him fall upon the monsters that had attacked Castle Town with a fiery rage, a merciless rampage that left no monster alive for what they had done. Some of the stares were done out of awe, others... Respect. Others? Fear. He walked in his armor, with his sword strung to his back, his bow on his belt... That probably didn't help, but with the monsters becoming more common, he had to be armored up in order to get here from Ordon. But something told him the armor only furthered the impression... And wasn't the base of it. He didn't know if walking here in casual attire would have changed a thing. He was a soldier now... A part of the Hyrule Military Corps. And they all knew it. He'd been sworn in soon after the festival, and he now served their King, King Leon... And yet, despite being there -for- them... He was still stared at as he walked, different stares then before... Some even gave him dirty looks, and he heard the whispers of "Stupid guards..." muttered as he passed. He even heard a child whisper "Mommy! That's the scary fighting guy!" to their parent. It was funny, that... To be called scary, terrifying... For events he couldn't even remember. Sure he remembered everything leading up to it... But he didn't remember the battle. It was still a haze, a blur to him... It was funny... He'd left his former home partly because he wasn't recognized for what he had done, cast to the side and downplayed because of a prophecy... But this wasn't the attention he'd wanted, was it? He supposed one had to be careful what they wished for. Others... Well, he supposed they just weren't used to the farmboy walking around in armor, as part of the King's army now. He'd come every once in awhile, looking the peaceful farmboy, getting supplies, being polite and laid back... And now all of a sudden he was an armored warrior. It was a change for anyone. He wore golden-colored plate armor, smithed to be as lightweight as it could be but while providing ample protection to the wearer. And it was clear it'd been recently re-tempered, by the finest hands, as was his blade... The red cape that flowed from his armor no longer wore blank and allegiance-free. The symbol of Hyrule was now emblazoned on the cape, as well as on the centerpiece of his armor. He was a man of Hyrule... And now the world would know. Dragelix, in it's brilliant gold and crimson colors, shone from it's sheathe, as though it were on fire. Josh would brush a strand of long, golden-blonde hair from a pair of brimming brown eyes as the 6'4 Hylian warrior would walk past the fountain, taking a moment to gaze through it and letting the sound of rushing water soothe him. He supposed people would get used to having him around in this matter, right? OOC: Tags: |
