When only one person outside of family used a nickname it was incredibly easy to tell who was yelling it in the middle of the town square. Orian closed his eyes and took a deep breath opening them in time to see exactly what he expected. Eleyna on top of a nearby rooftop. Great, he knew how that would end and as she lept down he moved to where she was going to land. By the time she looked up at him, he was standing there with a hand extended to help her up.

"Eleyna, you still need to practice your landings."

It was good that some things apparently didn't change Orian supposed. Though he really wished that this was one of the things that would. Being able to stick a landing was important to avoiding injury and making an escape. Two things that falling on one's face made significantly more difficult.

"But yes, I did miss you."

Orian said after his chastisement. Perhaps it wasn't what he should have opened with but it seemed half his life was spent trying to keep Eleyna from getting herself killed. While she was carefree and causing trouble he was doing his best to keep it from getting her killed.

It was hard to not snort or smile at Eleyna as she danced in place. Orian had known her for most of his life and her never ending zeal never failed to amuse him. Others might have found it annoying but he knew it came from a place of genuine enthusiasm. Eleyna may not have been suited to being a "proper" Sheikah but she was happy blazing her own trail and he respected that. 

"Hunting monsters? Well, I suppose you always did perform better under pressure."

While some who only knew her casually might have balked at the thought Eleyna fighting a moblin but Orian had sparred with her. When it was time to get serious she was more than capable of it and her skills showed when she focused. Most of the time she was too distracted to really be effective. It was a shame since if she'd been able to focus she would have impressed everyone. 

"Getting lunch. I am between assignments at the moment."

Orian said, he'd actually just gotten back into town not too long ago. He'd been sent to the south to visit Ordon village. Nothing of particular note just collecting the town guards regular report to deliver back to the castle. 

"It is better than the alternative of only being able to perform not under pressure."

Orian said, giving no sign that he'd noticed her double entendre. Mostly because she had said so much outrageous stuff by accident in the past that it barely phased him anymore. He'd hit his capacity to say phrasing to her a long time ago and simply took what she said at face value. As he patted her wallet he shrugged and then put a hand on her arm to indicate he was changing direction. 

"If you are paying then we can go somewhere nice instead of the soldier's mess." 

The road they'd been on led back to the army barracks but if he didn't have to pay? Well there were plenty of nice spots to eat in Castle Town and he knew just where to take her. There was a small place that sold various noodle bowls near the river. Not too expensive, delicious food, and very casual so she wouldn't feel out of place. 

Orian snorted when she expressed she was glad she didn't have it the other way around. Mostly in her reasoning since most people found being in combat, well, stressful. That had always been a gift of Eleyna's, she never got stressed about monsters, battle or just danger in general. Honestly, she didn't seem to be bothered by anything which was the trait he really admired. He wished he could face all his adversities with a smile on his face but most of the time he had to settle for a mask.

"Only so much you can do. I travel with spices."

He said the words with a grin she couldn't see since his mask was still covering the lower half of his face. But she could hear the teasing tone in his voice. They'd had the conversation a few times and he knew the real reason was she wasn't terribly good in the kitchen. Of course, Orian was adequate in the kitchen himself. It wasn't strictly speaking something a Sheikah needed to know but he was the sort to learn the basics of anything he thought might be useful.

"I still remember what your favourite dish is."

As Orian said this he gave her a shrug and followed her as she rushed into the restaurant. He finally tugged his mask down off his mouth since he knew the owners didn't like it when he wore it. They saw it as rude, a sign he might be thinking of robbing them despite the fact he was with the army.

"You're mine as well."

Orian said to confirm Eleyna's feelings. They might have made an odd pair to most people. The young serious Sheikah and the wild rambunctious one but the two of them had been through thick and thin together. They'd just clicked when they were young and that spark of friendship never faded and had only gotten stronger through the trials and tribulations of their youth and training. As they settled in he wasn't surprised as she quickly located the spiciest and largest bowl the restaurant had.

"I'll get the Cucco bowl please."

His order was not nearly so spicy, it was noodles, garnishes, and a breaded cucco breast sliced into strips. The two bowls were well under way as she asked her next question and he shrugged his shoulders lightly at it.

"I've been fine. Still working on it but it's only been a few months, some people are in the army for years before being considered for promotion."

Of course, not everyone was a Sheikah the traditional guard of the Royal Family. There was quite a lot of expectation laid on his shoulders to make his people proud. They were still recovering after their hidden village had been destroyed years ago.

"You are biased."

Orian said but he smiled as he did. Her words meant a lot to him even if he was absolutely correct about her being biased. He was very good for his age according to most but he was hardly the only person that was very good for their age trying to get into the royal guard. It wasn't enough to be good he had to be the best and while he was doing his best, he still wasn't sure that it was good enough. It wasn't a choice that he could have any influence over outside of what he was doing do so he just focused on that.

"Not more than a few hours in the last few months. Had two jobs out that way but not really enough time to visit. You?"

That had been mostly deliberate on his part. His father had asked him the same question on if Orian had been promoted or not the last time he'd visited. When Orian had admitted he hadn't his father's response had been succinct. Do better. Because even if Orian was giving 100% every day, his father would only be satisfied with 110%.

"Eleyna, you are doing good work. Maybe not traditional but you are helping people."

Orian said as he reached out and patted her lightly on the shoulder. He stopped short of saying that the others would see it eventually. Partly because he wasn't true, partly so that she could pretend what he'd said was just an awkward response to her picking up another job. She did a good job of hiding her pain but they both knew the burdens the other carried. It was part of why they gelled so well, the boy carrying so many expectations had been thrilled to find a girl who put none on him. The girl who was looked down on for not being good enough found a boy who only cared that she was kind. Their friendship ran deep.
