Which, in retrospect, perhaps she had better closed her mouth instead. For at that moment, the salesman's tone changed.
"I have to admit... you're all such droll company."
Alarmed, Marianne's right hand flew towards the rapier in her hip. "What do-"
Too late.
Ulrich grabbed a spinner and sped to the wall, laughing maniacally as he exited through a different gate than the one they came in. At the same time, a deathly aura, far more sinister than that of the Death Sword, exuded itself from his being.
"Urk!"
And that familiar headache once again hit her hard. Marianne's sight darkened, and she raised her right hand out of reflex other than anything...
She is dying. She was dying. Not anymore.
A castle. Abandoned. Blanketed in sunset.
She did not go. But she did. She did not have a choice.
A land. Deserted. Forever stuck in sunrise.
The wind has stopped blowing. The water has stopped flowing.
She left it all behind.
She was dying, yes. But she was also lying.
It was one big selfish lie.
A pair of yellow-no, red- eyes stared at her. There was a smile.
But... whose smile?
Marianne, her sight still blurry from that mysterious memory, picked a random direction away from the demon's presence and, by sheer chance, her free left hand found Vlad's. "Ruru let us move!" she shouted, putting her shield behind her and tried to bring Mr. Zaharie to safety. At this time, she still did not see clearly the extent of Vlad's injuries. She hoped the Zoran Princess would do what they were supposed to do.... And as much as she hated to admit it, perhaps it would be better if she did not use magic for a while, other than maintaining her shield.
Shield of Faithful Paladin is up for 5 turns!

She must have looked pathetic as she buckled down and held her head, eyes closed in pain, while her right hand was miraculously raised and The Shield of Faithful Paladin, once again, was formed! Its valiant glow opened above the party, shielding most near the princess from harm. It clanged loudly as Dark Swords rained upon it, but it stood firm. At least, that was what Marianne felt. Fiora and Donna should at least be safe. The others.... the others....
Faintly, she could hear Mr. Zaharie grunting in pain. Fiora shouted something, but it wasn't clear.... Her sight was just gradually returning when she heard Revyn words. "You lot take care of each other and move. The plan hasn't changed; this only makes things easier,"
Alas, what Erevar said would be lost to the princess of Hyrule. She was not wearing her mask. And then... Fiora's voice.
"Master Revyn's right! Mr. Zaharie's injured, Your Highness! Get him to safety!" And the next moment, she ran and valiantly took to the air, unleashing an arrow which very deliberately clashed with the Demon's sword, their loud clang served to attract the demon's attention and perhaps annoy it.

"Foul demon!" taunted Fiora, maneuvering nimbly in the air while Marianne's Hawk Mask glinted on her face, "You have been defeated once, and you shall taste defeat again! Fiora of Hyrulean Royal Guard challenge you, you worthless creature!"
