“Selene, myself and a few others went on a voyage, chasing a lead for treasure. For me, it was a chance to see new things. Potentially get stronger” he began to regale the story when Desmond asked. “It was a hell of a trip. Shipwrecked by a sea monster, pirate bokoblins on the beach, an ancient civilization under siege by a tyrannical monster. A cult that worshipped it and sacrificed the villagers to it in order to be spared. Called it Vorva Dunga. We climbed to the peak of a frozen mountain and up there was a giant drake. After we felled it, we found its hoard. Gave me some collateral for materials to renovate the ranch, and I spent a fair bit on some investments as well in hopes of improving life in Hyrule, letting them access the sky areas far more easily if my investee can make good on it. But more relevant was this nest of eggs. All different in appearance, meaning this monster was an egg thief. Decided to take care of it here, though I’m not too sure yet on what it is.” He hoped it would hatch soon. Then he could find out if it was safe to keep on the ranch. Ideally he would be able to do so, but who knows? “We’re old friends from Termina. She was in a bad way when she came here after wrapping up some business back home. I decided to help her get her swordsmanship back in shape and let her stay awhile. Originally was just to get her on her feet, but she pulls her weight and I enjoy her company, so I don’t mind her staying long as she likes” he answered with a shrug when Desmond brought up how people could react to rooming with the opposite sex. He wondered how the Royal Family would react though, to knowing he’d been harboring a secret member of their fold? “I’m sure she won’t be too long, unless she’s here already we we haven’t seen her” he brought up as they approached the house. It was a humble, two-storey home. Two floors, four rooms, along with a storage basement. “Thinking to add a forge and weapon maintenance area to the property. Since this has basically become a knight’s base of operations, it’d be good to have everything I need to do both jobs here. Maybe work on the kitchen, too. It’s cozy, but could use more room if I’m now cooking for two. Room for a proper dining table would be good too” he then answered his question as he opened the door. They would step into a quaint living room with a fireplace, connected to a small kitchen area. Despite his status and position, it looked more like a farmer’s home than anything. The style might even remind Desmond of a labrynnian farmer’s home. |
