As the Torch Slugs were being dealt with, the young Goron warrior gave the activator all his strength along with Solveig. It didn't take much muscle to lower the platform switch, for the Gorons' combined efforts made short work of it. A loud kerclunk echoed throughout the hot corridor before the iron bars that stood against the door pulled to the side. Chains pulled the gate along the iron tracks and soon enough the doorway was no longer unimpeded. Dormagoro walked up to Phoebe and gave her a good pat on her shoulder.
"Oooo nice work on those puny creatures, everyone! Just keep up that momentum and we'll surely take back the mountain!" He cheered, raising a heavy fist in the air. Dormagoro had a good feeling about the chosen group - although that was pretty much his mood all the time. The young Goron was a jovial one and with the Chief within his party, his confidence was greatly boosted.
So, with the monsters dispatched and the way forward unlocked, the Goron guide trudged over to the circular door, pressed his hands against the smooth stone and rolled it to the side, opening to another area much larger than the one they stood in. It looked as though they were in the deep caldera of the tall volcano - the ceiling above them was nonexistent, open to the morning amber sky as clouds lazily moved across it. Within the area stood three large crane machines, blackened by ash and fire elevated at different positions above the magma chamber beneath them, interconnected by iron walkways. The machines looked old but the lowly hum noted that they were well operational. However, no Goron manned the cranes, for they were disturbed by Bulbins, which groups of three paced the walkways of the operator's cabin of the first two cranes. The three crane platform was much higher and thus, visibility was low as the heat shimmered from below.
"Tch. Those bozos musta scared off the workers on those two platforms." Dormagoro tried his best to tip-toe, just to see what laid ahead on the third platform. "Ah, can't see nothing from here. Guess we gotta fight our way to that door beside the third crane." He pointed to the higher outcropping connected with the third crane platform.
Meanwhile, the Bulbins on the first platform seem to have noticed the group and one of the trio pulled forth a horn. A warning bellowed throughout the large space, which prompted the second trio on the next platform to pick up their bows, readied for any approach. Nothing stirred from the third platform but loud grunts could be heard from there.
"Welp, no time ta waste!" Dormagoro shouted as he ran along the first walkway towards the first group of Bulbins. The iron walkways seem rather sturdy and held up quite well as the Goron ran across. Dormagoro had his sight set on one Bulbin while he left the remaining two and second trio to his party members.
