The Professorial Break Room, recess period.
“Good afternoon, Lord Mondeau.”
“Ahh, Ms. Pharnum. Better days?”
“Yes, well, Baumhaur again.”
“Baumha—oh.”
“He failed to complete any part of his homework for the past eight weeks. I fear that he will completely fail in his academics! Why, he seems like such a bright child, but if he keeps this up, his father may pull him from the school! Imagine what he won’t be able to do without proper education!”
“Well, it seems many other teachers with Yvon are facing the same issue.”
“His siblings performed far better! My methods have worked for many students before...”
“Your methods work for a general group of students, Ms. Pharnum.”
“Ah! Uh... Lady von Brandt, I didn’t see you there.”
“She has been here the entire time, Ms. Pharnum.”
“I-I see. W-weren’t you supposed to be teaching Her Highness today?”
“No.”
“... I... I see.”
“Lady von Brandt is still an adjunct professor at this establishment, Ms. Pharnum. Obviously we have found that Yvon requires a different method of education, and Lady von Brandt may be what he needs.”
“Private lessons for Yvon Bauhaum? I will tell you now that it will be futile, Lady von Brandt!”
“Mm. Do not consider any child futile for being unable to accommodate your lesson plan, Ms. Pharnum.”
“That—I-I didn’t mean...”
“Where is Yvon Baumhaur now, Lord Mondeau?”
“He is more than likely in the recess yard, playing kickball with the other children. Shall I walk you there? There is much to discuss on the way.”
“As you say, Lord Mondeau.”

The recess grounds was a small plot of land intended for field practice with magic, with markings upon the ground to show where students may stand in tests of magic. However, every now and then, it was the stage where the fiercest of kickball competitions happened among the more athletic students of the academy.
Alphonse Billbay was one such student, a broad-shouldered fellow with the gift of Din running through his veins. He was well-known among his class to be a brute and a bit of a bully in spite of being fairly average in his academia.
On the field of kickball, however, he was a formidable force of nature, and more often than not, the other students would dive out of his way to avoid direct contact with his shoulders as he maneuvered a leather skin ball to the other side of the field.
