I've seen a lot in this lifetime of mine

Josh would try his best to keep the rabbits hidden from Farrah from there, keeping them out of her view as much as he possibly could, picking up quite quickly on the fact that she couldn't bear to see the kills or the corpses. He didn't tease her for it, he didn't take the piss. He knew it was a sensitive thing for her, he could see that now.

Eventually, the village would come into sight and Josh took a breath. He then peered over at Farrah.

"... You doing alright?"

Silence was all she would grace Josh with during their journey home. Farrah was not very talkative after what had happened, and she simply wanted to go home and spend some time with Maude. Alone. Preferably with this arrow out of her hair.

She contemplated ignoring Josh, but that probably wouldn't end well. He'd probably just grow even more annoying and start pestering her until she answered. So, she would sigh. "No. I want Maude." She was not a child. She was just being the bigger man and refraining from being too aggressive.

The blonde let out a sigh and nodded. Clearly, trying to help Farrah on his own wasn't going to happen. He was going to need Maude's help. Flat out. He didn't like having to bother her for things, but... Well, this was something that Josh couldn't fix. He'd tried his very best, but this was a Maude problem to fix in this case.

Eventually, the two would make their way back to Sunrise Ranch. Upon opening the door to their little abode, Josh would call out into the house.

"Maude, honey? The deer got away, but I did catch some rabbits thanks to Farrah. The bad news is, of course, she uh... Oh boy... She ignored our warning about the hunting grounds, and now she has an accessory stuck in her hair. I've tried getting it out, but I'll admit that I don't want to be too forceful and hurt her" Josh would call out. That was a detail he hadn't told Farrah, to be honest. He probably could have gotten the thing out, if he'd pulled hard enough. But the thing with Josh was, he didn't know his own strength. But he did know that he could very well pull too hard by accident and hurt Farrah. Maude had a more precise touch in these matters.

"Do you mind giving us a hand? You're better off doing this then I am."

His words were calm, now. Any trace of panic, or anger, or anything else had disappeared. Things had settled between he and Farrah, so there was no real reason not to.

Somebody was in trouble. She wasn't sure who yet, but any amount of vague terminology meant someone was trying to "put something gentle" and any amount of "putting something gently" meant they didn't want the something to piss her off and any amount of thought that something might piss her off meant that something was gonna piss her off real good. Excuse her for letting her eyes off her idiots for any amount of time. Really whatever the problem is probably her fault for letting Josh into the outside world again. Let her just drop everything she was doing to go fix whatever nons-"What! The Hell!"
Alright, there was stupid fuckin nonsense and shenanigans and then there was this bullshit! Why the fuck was there an arrow lodged in her daughter's hair!? Did he shoot her!? "Did you fucking shoot her!?" What the hell! WHAT THE HELL!
Maude snatched her child away from Josh and carried her off, muttering enraged profanities. Farrah was placed on the counter as Maude started to meticulously work the arrow out. She didn't think Farrah wanted to cut any of it and she was hoping that wasn't going to be necessary.....
