True happiness only comes once in a lifetime
I mean, if she didn't want to talk about herself and her people, that was fine. He was asking because she had freely spoken of her position as a Sheikah and as a guardian and he had wanted to continue to make conversation using what conversation options were available. If what he had said upset her, it certainly wasn't his intention. So he would merely smile, and shake his head. "Nay, I do apologize if I've made you uncomfortable in any sort, m'lady. I asked out of a desire to keep the conversation going from what I knew, and what you'd revealed thus far, but I had no intent to pry in matters not of that you would be comfortable covering" He would respond, defaulting back to a more formal dialect as he found that he had gone too far back into a casual stance with someone he had just met. It was... Strange. With her, there was a sense of familiarity, like he knew her. Like he could trust her, like he'd always known her. It was that familiarity that also contributed to his pushing the subject just a little, as though part of him had no fear of what her answer would be. But he had been wrong, very very wrong, and he could see it in her expression, see it in her body language, see it in the tone that her words gave. Josh had always been an observant man. Not always the best with people when it came to those he did not know, but he did know how to watch one's eyes... Watch one's movements. Watch their expressions. It was much like combat, in many ways. Telegraphing one's thoughts, and where they would strike next by watching their body language, and their eyes... Especially the eyes. For the eyes rarely lied. Her crimson irises told her feelings, and he would respect the story her eyes knitted and tailored. He had to admit her eyes were pretty, reflecting a fair face, even if the lower half of said face was obscured by a bandanna. Of course... @maude was prettier. At least, she was in his eyes. But that was no surprise. It was as it should be. What or who should be prettier in a man's eyes then the woman that the man wished to marry? It was no secret that he wished to marry Maude. And not because it was a fact that regularly passed from his lips to the ears of others. It was obvious if you looked into his eyes. If you studied his face. If you noticed the change in his voice when he talked about her. When he spoke of her, his eyes lit up like a passionate fire that shot from the very depths of Death Mountain. The pitch of his voice lightened just a little bit when he spoke her name, or just when he discussed her at all. His tone itself seemed to carry the unyielding, unrelenting love and care that he held for the woman who in his mind had no equal in any way, especially in his heart. To him, she was the most beautiful woman in this world, and not even a trip to the Sacred Realm would change his mind. He could look upon the Goddesses themselves, Nayru, Farore and Din... Study every inch of their facial features and look upon what many would consider to be true essence of true, absolute beauty. He could stare the ultimate deity in the very essence of this world... Hylia, right in the face... And then turn and look at Maude, and still see the most beautiful woman in this world or the next. It had been three years... And that opinion had yet to change. And probably never would. His gaze then turned to Crystal on her entrance, and he would smirk in turn, an amused tint as he would then speak. "I mean, if you don't want her to listen to me ask about her race, I could always see if she would listen if I spoke of our escapades while we were single men and women, all those years ago, Crystal" Was what came out of his mouth with a chuckle escaping his lips to match. "I kid, I kid." Or was he? "I assume young Nami is someone you're mentoring? I haven't seen her before, so I assume she is new to her position" He would add. It made sense for the much more experienced Crystal, who had a handful of years guarding Leon under her belt, to pass wisdom to the new addition in order to ensure the most efficiency in the ranks, and the highest success rate in their mission... Especially as they had only just failed their mission not all that long ago. OOC: Tags: @nami @crystal |
