I've seen a lot in this lifetime of mine
 | Bloody hell, did it really have to rain? Josh had finished his business in Castle Town and had been on his way back to Ordon, when he had ended up getting lost due to the rain. Rain poured down and soaked his long blonde hair, as it would be let down and almost run to his shoulders because of it. Josh had decided to let Cabuck rest, and as he would lead the soaked horse by the brindle, they would walk for a good long while as they tried to find their way back, soaked and all. Josh didn't want Cabuck getting fatigued and ending up slipping and breaking a leg. If he did, then that was that. He needed to be sure to take care of his horse, and he'd sacrifice getting wet to do so. He hadn't actually been to the Lanayru Province before himself. Never in his life. He'd generally just gone from Ordon to Castle Town and back. Whatever was necessary to keep supplies up to feed himself and Maude, right? But as they went, a figure would approach them. His first instinct was hostile, and he would place a hand on his blade's sheathe. But when they would hail him politely, he would slowly lower his hand, even if he was still on his guard. It was a Zora, notably, calling a nervous sounding greeting. "Sir? Is everything alright?" He would call out into the wind, hoping the Zora could hear him.  OOC: Tags: @anastasia |

| They didn't appear to mean any harm. Well, he hoped not anyway. It seemed that the fish was lost, and that was pretty clear when the fish literally said they were actually lost. There was a cruel irony in a fish being lost in the rain, surrounded by water, but... He didn't go there. "Well, where are you planning to go?" The blonde would ask with a casual shrug. He was from Ordon and just tended to go from Point A to Point B and then back again. So he wasn't entirely sure if he could help him. Or her. Or it. He wasn't sure, the closer they came. As they asked if he was a Hylian though, he raised a brow, but took it in stride with a joke. "I am" He remarked, and then shot a cheeky smile. "Are you a fish?" OOC: Tags: @anastasia |

| Well, it wasn’t like he was judging him for being nervous, geez. Or for getting lost. Or for being a fish. Though it seemed to take the Zora a bit to get the joke. He certainly did give off the vibe of being rather sheltered, he noted, but again - he wasn’t going to judge for that either. I mean, why would he? There was no point in judging someone for being a bit different or having a certain uncontrollable quirk to their personality - so long as it wasn’t cruel, or destructive, or a selfish trait. There was a difference between clearly being sheltered in life, and being an asshole after all. And it was kind of funny, actually. To a degree, Josh was a bit of a bookworm too. Not to the degree of Anastasia no, but remember that the man grew up on stories similar to that of what might be told in fiction. Sure, it was real - all real - but he still grew up on it, it was almost built in for him to be fascinated by tall tales and stories of grand adventure. Sure, he looked at an educational book here and there for skill building, but Josh was far more interested in fiction then that, obviously. I mean, what did you think he did on his spare time? Maude wasn’t always available to cuddle, after all. And what if he just wanted to cuddle up with Maude and read a good book, huh? It was a way to keep him from losing his mind, with work, work, work. Sometimes he just needed to kick back, relax and get lost in an alternative reality in his head. All work and no play makes a warrior go crazy… Even if Josh wasn’t exactly a full time warrior anymore, for that matter. Actually, there was this book he was into, what was it… Oh right, the story about the Hero that travelled through time to save Hyrule from it’s greatest foe, before returning to their own time to stop it from coming to their own Hyrule - this Hyrule. It wasn’t a story told much, mind. Many people believed it to be a simple myth, a tall tale told by a child and an imaginative Princess. Many people didn’t believe it whatsoever, and as they had never had to experience that evil for themselves… Well, who were they to be concerned with matters they had never even experienced? They had never seen this monster. Just a traitor ratted out by the Princess. It was a tale forgotten with time, reduced to a mere child’s tall tale… And nothing more. All that anyone knew was that a traitor died that night. And life went on as though nothing happened. And really, nothing did happen. Civil feuds happened, wars were wagd, but that was the simple nature of a set of several different societies built so close together. But nothing happened. No monsters came back from the dead, no alternate dimensions… No alternate worlds or realms. Just people. Of course, the monster population had notably increased as of late… Still, a cheeky grin would cross his face when the Zora would get the joke. He was kidding around, of course. But when they asked where the lake was, he tilted his head. "Don't Zoras tend to go there regularly? I don't know how you wouldn't know how to get there but..." He began as he would take out a map as well as a compass, trying to use his shoulder to shield them from the rain. "While I'm having a bit of directional issue myself, I'm pretty sure it's... That way" He would remark as he pointed in the direction that the map and compass were telling his was the direction toward the lake. When he would introduce himself, he tilted his head for a moment. Wasn't Anastasia a woman's name? Granted, he'd met a man named Ashley not too long ago, soooo.... "Josh" He introduced with a small smile as he would extend his hand. OOC: Tags: @anastasia |

| Okay, so most definitely sheltered. He had to ponder this for a moment, before simply nodding his head. Well, it couldn't be helped. It wasn't like people who looked just like him hadn't left their village high up in the sky where they were invisible to people - or in his case in a lake, hadn't ever not left their abode before until a certain point... But that's sheltered life, right? He seemed satisfied with the answer, but Josh would quirk a brow when they would ask about the monster population. "Rough" He would remark, letting out a sigh. | Chased out midday? A brow quirked at that, but he would simply nod his head instead of questioning it further. It seemed the monster threat was causing trouble for more and more people. Josh would look out at the castle, as though trying to measure the distance. If it had been closer, he'd have gone back and waited out this terrible rainstorm... Geez, @maude was going to be fraught with worry, wasn't she? Thunder and lightning began to ensue over their heads, but the blonde remained calm, taking a breath. "Well, you could go to Castle Town. But if you want somewhere closer, then you want Ordon. We don't have much, but it's closer to here then Castle Town, and you'll be able to restock on arrows there" Josh would explain. | No, that wasn't the case at all. He was just a tad upset that the poor sod had been chased around by monsters. With the increasing numbers these days, the risk of injury as a result of them was rising, and he was more concerned about the Zora's well being then anything. As they walked, Josh leading Cabuck along the way still, he would look at the Zora when he would ask his question. "Ordon is a farming village" He would explain, taking a breath. "It's a small, tight-knit community, mostly of farmers, ranchers and the like. But it has enough supplies for you to get your fill. I only go to Castle Town when I need supplies we can't get there, which doesn't happen often, luckily" Josh would add. "You haven't been out of Zora's Domain before, then? Why wait so long before venturing out?" Why had -he- not ventured out and explored this new land in the last two years since arriving? To be honest, he didn't know. | "It really is" He responded. "It's home to me now, even if I've only been living there a couple of years. It feels to me as though I've lived there my whole life at this point. It's hard sometimes to even remember what I was doing before that" He admitted with a small smile. Well, that wasn't entirely true. He was reminded every single day of his old life. But he tried to put it behind him. This was his new life now, a happy life away from the fighting... Away from the constant threat of monsters. "Not brave enough, huh?" He remarked, scratching his head for a moment. His rather wet and soaked head, might I mention? "Well, sometimes you just gotta try. I mean, what's the worst that could happen, right?"
